The Falls
Some of the best fishing is Miami falls canal system, there is an excellent opportunity for anglers to catch Peacock Bass, Largemouth bass, and even several other fish. The Miami system is based in Dade County and has many features, lakes, parks, and a picnic area equipped with very nice restroom facilities.
The fishery is made up of a series of Lakes and Canals, the lakes, and the canal intersections and ditches, which are connected to Miami Biscayne Bay and are generally productive areas for catching most fish species.
The water is clear and makes for good sight fishing, even using live bait. Shoreline vegetation, rip-rap areas, and shady areas associated with bridges and culverts also provide excellent fish places. The Miami charter boats nicked named the place the “Falls,” about 32 miles of lakes and canals connected to other lakes by a series of channels. Aerojet Canal
The Aerojet canal fishing charter located in Homestead is just minutes from the Florida Keys. You fish a casting distance from Saltwater, all while enjoying the catches only provided by freshwater including occasional Tarpon. Because of its trip location, it gets very low pressure and, in return, grows really big bass leaving it a special place for private charter fishing in Miami.
A few of the side benefits of being located so far south in Miami is the capability to produce and keep up peacock bass in the same fishery. Aerojet Canal is a totally different experience than Blue Lagoon, it is never noisy and congested. Aerojet fishing charters rarely see other anglers, maybe a few extra anglers on the weekends. Traveling from the boat ramp, it doesn’t look like much. But like most fisheries, this one especially has its SWEET spots that always seem to hold fish during a trip.
With that said, this place has a lot of fish and is generally productive for most anglers with little knowledge of the area. The entrance off the road of US1 is a bit difficult to see and access, especially with weekend traffic. The Aerojet canal is flood control and has a structure on both ends. It fishes like a combination of Tamiami and Snapper systems, all while providing urban anglers with more exciting fishing opportunities without going to South America.
The Aerojet fishing charters offer some of the most exciting and varied Miami fishing in all of southeast Florida. Several anglers have reported canal ‘trifecta’ or ‘slam’ catches of butterfly peacock and largemouth bass topped off with a Snook or Tarpon. We guarantee it with our NO FISH, NO PAY policy! [READ MORE…]

Miami Reviews

Trip of a lifetime I had a trip of a lifetime! Captain Bob was a pleasure to spend the day with. I caught loads of fish with his guidance even though the canals had gotten 10 inches of rain in the days prior to my trip. Fishing for peacock bass in the Snapper Creek canal was the best part of my trip to Miami. We don't have those fish in Montana where I'm from and they fight like crazy. Captain Bob was very patient with me as I felt with snags and line issues throughout the day. His 25 plus years of experience were not lost on me as I pulled in bass after bass. I would go back on that trip in a heartbeat and will carry the memories of that day with me always.

Peacock Bucket List If you want to scratch Peacock Bass off your bucket list go with Captain Richard out of Hialeah Florida. We caught over 40 Peacocks and a number of other species including bass, crappie, Mayan Cichlid and one that we couldn’t identify a cross between a Ling and a Bowfin. Oh yes and my fishing buddy had a big snook on but lost him in a dock. Great guide great guy and a great day. On top of that I saved $8,000 because we didn’t have to go to the Amazon to scratch Peacock Bass off my bucket list. ThanksAndy Clements

Over 18 peacock bass! Banner Day 6 hour peacock bass trip near The Falls in Miami. Caught a snook a few mayan ciclids, but lost count on peacocks after 18! Most caught on topwater plugs but my biggest bass on a shiner 6lber!!,). Kirk knows his stuff and he's a good guide eith a great
A good experience My cousin and I had planned this fishing trip for about 15 years. While we would have liked to have landed more fish, we understand that we have no control over wind speeds and fish dispositions. We fished 2 days, once with Brett Issacson in the glades and once with Bob Miley in the Falls canals. Both these fellas are top-notch—-friendly, knowledgeable. Very accommodating. Would love to fish wifh either captains a yrime …

Captain Kirk Osborne is amazing! Three of us took a 4 hour peacock trip out of the Falls Mall area. Weather was cold and cloudy. But, Captain Kirk put us on fish and we caught a ton. Had a blast and loved his company. Very knowledgeable and professional. Totally recommend.
Peacock Bass, Miami Lakes We had a lot of fun on our trip. Capt. Jeff Brooks was great, allowing my daughter to goof off a bit between fish, explaining different baits to her and how they work, he just kept it interesting for a 9 year old. We caught a few Peacock and Large Mouth Bass. Not the best fishing day due to all the rain but Capt. Brooks did his best putting us on top of the fish. We even hook up twice to a huge Tarpon with broke the line the first time and ran everything off the spool the second time, we just could not stop him on the light tackle. This is a must do trip and definitely choose live bait, it’s worth the extra money!!

Fishing with Capt Robert E Miley and Capt Jeff Brooks on Miami Airport Lakes Robert and Jeff took us out on 5th Aug and 9th Aug. Good guys full of knowledge, experience and a determination to get you on the fish. And they delivered. I will definitely be coming back for more!

South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing I had one of the greatest fishing experiences yet with Captain Jeff Brooks. We were able to catch the beautiful Peacock Bass all day using different techniques and fishing gear, which was great. Capt Jeff was very knowledgeable and helped me understand better how to fish for Peacock Bass. I look forward to the next trip!

Good fishing Experience We just had our repeat fishing guide with Captain Robert Miley and we had a blast catching quality fish once again. We caught a lot on a half day trip and reeled in 3 species of fish. We caught 2 peacock bass that were more than four pounds with the heaviest one weighing at four pounds and eleven ounces. Captain Robert knows where the fish are and is very experienced in getting them to bite. He is always a pleasure to work with. He is professional and patient, which made it a very enjoyable trip. We will definitely book him again the next time we go to Florida.

Peacock Bass Fishing with Captain Bob Miley I booked a trip through bassonline.com as a surprise for my husband....peacock bass fishing was a HUGE bucket list item and in speaking with many guides, this was the only business I was comfortable with since I truly had no idea about this sort of fishing. They helped me decide what to do, when to travel, where to stay so I would be close to the ramp, etc. I cannot say enough good things about Captain Bob Miley. He was so knowledgeable about fishing and he and my husband talked all day. His number one priority was putting us on fish. And thatâs exactly what he did. He had great equipment and was such a great teacher of how to catch these beautiful fish. My husband had the time of his life and we will absolutely be going back to fish with him again. Bassonline.com made it easy to pay online and gave me all the information I needed to ensure we had a great trip!! Canât thank them enough for helping me pull off this surprise!!

Great Experience! Thank you so much for a wonderful guide (Miley) for my son Calvin today ... as we all know ... no guarantee in fishing and this man did his very very best for my son! Not many people like that left in the world! PS: he did get Peacock Bass:)Thank you Rhonda Gronseth

peacock bass trip we had a great time fishing with our guide, he was very knowledgeable and very helpful we bought 8 dozen shad for our trip and we fished four hours and used everyone of them along with the fact that one bait one fish!! Definitely would go on this trip again
Peacocks and Tarpon Highly recommend a trip with Bass Online and Captain Sam Rojas. Within minutes of landing in Miami we were on the water, food and drink in hand and geared up for a great afternoon of fishing. Very personable guide with loads of local knowledge. Thanks again for the good time.

3 days of fishing in Miami and the Everglades Caught nearly 200 fish in 3 days with Capt.Wayne Fellows, it was fantastic! We caught multiple species and fished a different location every day. Never a dull moment and would do it again in a heartbeat. Wayne was great company and knew the spots! A most do event and go for more than a day as weather is a big factor.

Captain Robert Miley is the BEST! My son and I went peacock bass fishing in Miami with Captain Robert Miley on January 1st 2018. I will start by talking about the fishing and then I will talk about Captain Robert Miley. Captain Miley's boat is immaculate and his gear is top notch. He had everything ready for us and he was also early. He knew all the good spots and was obviously very experienced. He went way beyond for us. Recent hurricanes fell a lot of trees in the canals we were fishing in yet that did not deter Captain Miley. He navigated around the trees and debris risking damage to his boat to get my son and I to the best spots. He only had inches literally, but he was so skilled he was able to do it. We caught a good amount of Peacock Bass and my son caught a monster 6 lb peacock bass. I wish I could post a picture of it. If you could see the look on my son's face you would know what I mean. Now about Captain Robert Miley the man. He was kind, gentle, funny and entertaining. He was patient, caring, interested and engaging. If you could see how he treated my son and how he made us feel you would know what I mean. Captain Robert Miley is the man I would love my son to become, the man I would like to be. He is the father I never knew but wish I had. Don't go fishing with Captain Miley just because he is good at fishing. Do go with him because he is one of the most decent human being you will ever meet. He just happens to be good at fishing as well:-)

Highly Recommended We were looking for a very last minute half day trip whilst down in Miami - from the initial phone call to the actual trip itself could not have been smoother - Whilst on the water Capt. Miley was EXCEPTIONALLY patient, accommodating and enjoyable to fish with. He put us right on top of the fish and it was only a short matter of time before we were pulling in doubles - I would highly recommend booking through Bass Online - A++++

Had a blast Peacock Bass fishing in Miami at the Blue Lagoon! My son and I did a 1/2 day trip with Capt. Tony. We were catching fish from the start. These fish really fight! Tony got us to the fish and he was excellent wit recommendations for how to entice them. He gave us a friendly atmosphere that made it a great trip (worth every penny). I highly recommend him. The booking service is also easy to understand and use.

Not trustworthy Capt called the morning of the charter trying to reschedule. When booking, we were told we would be using live bait, capt told us the same - he didn't know the bait shop didn't have live bait during the week. Caught a couple of very small fish. So the booked charter met requirements. Capt told us he would set us up on a complimentary trip since he couldn't produce live bait as promised. Told us to call the day prior - called and texted numerous times, even up to noon of the day of the trip - kept getting back - working on it, get right back to you. Still haven't heard back and wasted the last day of vacation waiting for capt Roger to call. Spent 26 years working for the military - your word means something - guessing in this business it doesn't. Recommend avoid the frustration and book with a company that keeps their word.

Snapper Creek
The Snapper system is another popular Miami destination for charter fishing in Miami for South Fl anglers. This system consistently produced excellent catches of peacock bass. The Snapper crew and captain speak both English and Spanish so anglers may also encounter Snook or Tarpon moving inland from Biscayne Bay.
Fishing on Snapper System
The main Miami canal systems are 12.3 miles long, average 12 feet in-depth, and range from 50 to over 100 feet in width. The north end of the channel is narrower and shallower than the southeast end. There are five boat-accessible lateral canals and a small seven-acre lake up to 22 feet deep, plenty to fish for a full day with or without bait.
Charter fishing in Miami offers the opportunity for the largest predators to travel throughout the system, but they tend to concentrate under bridges. Anglers fishing Snapper can also catch jaguar guapotes, Oscars, or spotted tilapia. These illegally released non-natives have posed a threat to native species, are good to eat, and you can keep every one you catch. Jaguar guapotes resemble black crappie with many small sharp teeth.
Oscars are bream-shaped fish with a red or orange circle at the base of the tail, and they have a thick coat of protective mucus on their bodies. Spotted tilapia is also bream-shaped, golden in color with black spots or bars, and some adults have red on their bodies. [READ MORE…]
