Fishing Lake Okeechobee Reviews

Utah man gets his bucket list filled. Captain Fellows was simply awesome. His knowledge was amazing. He was super nice and fun. Made the trip worth the money. When I told him a largemouth from Okeechobee was on my bucket list...bam, He fulfilled my dream. I'm from Utah.
Lake Okeechobee bass vs Captain Galen Today was a great day on world famous Lake Okeechobee. Fish were plentiful and so were the stories. Captain Galen Fugh was a great guide and outstanding “Wang” man! It was a day for checking off something on our bucket list and making memories. We highly recommend you let them hook you up with some bug bass!

He never disappoints! His knowledge and enthusiasm keep us coming back. Highly recommend.
Great day on Lake Okeechobee.

Great day on Lake Okeechobee.
He was right. He was smart about not getting too far out and onto fish. His boat was amazing. Large Ranger that was the most stable, smooth running fishing boat I have ever been on. I never once felt we were in an unstable situation despite the high winds.
Mark got us onto big bass…every bass was the size you might catch once in a week in lakes in Canada. My forearms hurt after reeling in these bass!!
Mark has the boat, gear, and knowledge to put you in a position to catch amazing smallmouths. It’s up to the fisherman from there but he puts the odds of success in your favor!

Our Best Bass Trip! I've been lucky to fish with some good guides in my life and Capt. Mark Shepard moved to the top of that list the other day (1/13/21) when he took us out on Okeechobee. We caught more bass than you'd believe so I won't disclose the number but as important we had a great time. Captain Mark has some stories he likes to share as well as accurate information about the big O and surrounding environment. You can't go wrong with Captain Mark Shepard. Book it!

Ripping lips all day! I had an amazing time Bass fishing with Captain Mark Rose and Mark Shepard. Both of them are true professionals. We fished 2 days back to back each 8 hour trips. We were hooked up on Bass right away and it lasted ALL DAY! They did NOT disappoint! I canât wait to come back.

AWESOME!!! BOOK A TRIP WITH CAPT MARK ROSE! I booked a 2 day bass fishing trip on Okeechobee for my daughter and I and we had a great time catching large mouth bass. Mark knew exactly where to take us to catch them. The second day was forecasted to be colder so Mark offered to take us to the Falls near Miami and fish for Peacock bass. What a blast...he went above and beyond to make sure we caught fish and had a good trip. I highly recommend fishing with Mark. We will be back!

Bass fishing better from Dec - April at Lake Okeechobee very nice guy and tried his best to take us to places to catch some bass but it was the wrong time of the year and the wrong weather; nothing he could have done about it; but it would have been nice to have been told up front when booking that the fishing during June-Sep is really slow;

Great first time on Okeechobee Very professional service, easy to reserve and very accommodating. Captain Galen had us on fish early in and my fiancé and I both caught 3 largemouth a few crappie and several mud fish and catfish. All in all in was a great day on the water and would highly recommended.

Awesome time with Captain Mark and Brett Took a short trip to Fort Lauderdale to do some fishing . Spent a great great day on the water with captain Mark Shepard. Not only did I catch my personal best but between me my wife and Captain Mark we solved all world problems lol. Then Kim and I spend a day In The Everglades with Captain Brett Isackson. The weather was not in our favor that day but we still caught fish. Captain Brett did everything he could to get on on the bite. But bad weather is something even he can’t control.
Looking forward to fishing with both captain again. Thanks guys

Bass fishing at it`s best Captain , Mark put me on the bass . Had a great 6 hour trip caught 12 bass and 6 other fish . I fish a lot but you can always learn from a pro. Bring a camera ,sun screen ,sun glasses and a big hat. Get ready to have fun.Out of Clewiston Fl.

Annual Bass fishing David Lauer did a great job helping my 85 year old father onto the boat and finding the fish. The Bass online outfit is a top notch above board operation. No cash only policy and no overcharging for bait either like we have experienced in the past with other so called guides.I do think David was steering all the big bass towards my dad! LOL
My dad and I will be back again next year!

Excellent Experience Brian was awesome. Very knowledgeable. Definitely a true fisherman. Very personable and easy to get along with. We caught 4 species for the day including several nice bass. I recommend Brian and we will definitely be back to fish with him again.
2 Trips = 10 Stars I booked back to back trips with Bass Online. We fished two different lakes with two different guides but both were very professional. Both provided all of the tackle, bait, and necessary knowledge to have 2 very successful fishing trips. The number of bass we caught and the quality of bass we caught far exceeded my expectations considering we were fishing in late July in FL. I would absolutely use Bass Online again. Thanks for a great experience.

Okeechobee with Brian Brown Great day with Brian. Put us on fish in minutes and caught them all morning long. Gators made it interesting. Largemouth, Channel Cats, Mud Fish and yes a turtle made it a great morning trip. Have been guided by both Brian and Dave, both true professionals. Will book again!

Father Son Fishing Trip Dave Lauer was our guide and did a wonder job putting us on fish. We caught so many fish it wasn't even funny! Boat and gear were well prepped and ready to go. Will definitely know who to call when we go again. Thanks again for a wonderful trip! Brian
Bass Fishing Any day out with Mark Shepherd is a good day! Highly recommended as we are repeat customers An experience angler and former Pro like Mark is what you need when tackling the Big O! No matter the weather you will catch fish! Mark has always been professional, upfront and completely honest in the forecast. Trust no one else when making your selection

Good Trip, Great Captain Myself and two of my sons (15 and 19) went on a 4 hour bass fishing charter with Captain Rob on The Big O. Although we only caught 10 or so fish, the personality and knowledge of Captain Rob Alfano made it a good experience. He picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel we were staying at. He joked and chatted with my boys effortlessly and made the trip more enjoyable for them. He also knew the lake well and led us to fish, however the conditions were not in our favor as the water neared 90F and the wind made it difficult to fish the islands correctly. He even asked to pick us up at 6am rather than 7am as to allow more time for prime fishing. Great guide, would recommend Captain Rob and fishing Okeechobee to anyone.

Mark Shepard Review I look forward every year to fishing with Mark Shepard. He is the ultimate guide; friendly, knowledgable, patient, great teacher and extremely hard working. He works tirelessly to put you on fish which is all you can ask for in a guide. I have fished with a lot of good guides but Mark is in a class by himself.

Great guide. Solid service Fished with Larry Crossman. Great guide. Patient, professional and accommodating. Had the ability to slide one day for better weather. No hassles and Larry suggested going earlier next day. This really paid off as fishing was active but only for first 2 hours. We had a blast, learned a lot and recommend Larry highly.

Great May Trip! Caught around 20 fish in 5 hours. Mainly the standard 2-3lbers which to a yankee is outstanding. Captain Brian was awesome!!! Really knows his stuff and is a good guy to hang out with on a boat all day. Great time fishing Okeechobee! Iâll be back.
Outstanding Experience I took my 10 yr old son fishing.. I caught a 9-1/4 lb Bass first hit.. My son caught a 7-1/2 lb Bass.. Mark Shepard guided us, if you can book Mark.. A professional all the way.. He made it happen for us, my son went on to catch more than 60 lbs of fish.. I will definitely return and fish with Mark.. A crazy good time..

Bass in the Everglades Captain Mike Groshon is the man. We had a trip booked for Lake Okeechobee, but some poor fishing conditions came up in the weeks before our trip. Mike was honest and upfront, and told us that we would be better off doing an Everglades trip. So glad we listened, because between the three of us, we caught over 250 largemouth in 8 hours (and thatâs an honest count from everyone on the boat). Fishing was incredible, and on top of that, Mike was a pleasure to fish with. It was clear that he was committed to putting us on fish and having a fun day on the water. I canât recommened this trip enough.

Same guide year 2 We specifically requested Brett I. because we enjoyed him last year. We were staying in W. Palm Beach and hoped to fish Okeecobee Lake but evidently fish were not cooperating so we drove down to fish in the Glades. It was a pretty long drive but Brett sure put us on the fish! We appreciate the military discount! We will be back

Fishing trip with Captain Mark Rose My father and I had taken a 6 hour fishing trip with Captain Mark Rose this past week. It was nothing but a great experience for both my father and I. Mark put on some great lake Okeechobee bass. We both had an absolute great time with Mark he was very nice and kind to us. The fishing was unbeliavble me and my father had caught some of the biggest bass of our lives. Mark is an excellent guide and we are looking forward to booking more trips with him in the future!

Great trip Had a great trip with Captain Brian Brown. We fished with shiners to start out and while the bite wasnât the greatest, still managed to boat some nice bass. We had to cut our trip short due to weather and some engine problems, but I still had a good time just being out on the water. Will definitely fish with him again.

Speck Fishing I brought a customer to Okeechobee to fish for Specks. It wasnât the ideal day weather wide but Capt Brian made it a great day for Us anyway. We caught plenty of fish and had a great time. We will be back to see him again when it cools back down.
Okeechobee adventure I'm a guy from Canada who loves to bass fish but gets to go out 5-10 times a year. I had the opportunity while in Florida to fish a lake that's in my top 3. Booking the trip was easy, everyone was really nice, my guide was amazing we just happened to get a really crappy day. The only reason I gave a 4 star rating is for the cost. Coming from Canada with our dollar it made the trip quite expensive and with the addition of live bait it got up there. Plus the live bait caught the most. I'd definitely say if you have the chance go for it but budget accordingly!

great day of fishing (a little catching) A buddy and I had a great day fishing with Captain Larry on the south end of Lake Okeechobee. The weather was beautiful, the wildlife plentiful, and we caught a few fish. It was very enjoyable and Captain Larry was a knowledgeable guide who worked hard to get us on fish in tough, low water conditions.

Great Experience Fished an 8 hour trip. Bass were turned off on this, the third day of cold front. Guide Larry, put us on some nice fish despite the cold water temp. Boat was fast, roomy and clean. Larry is a great professional guide. I will use his services again.
Great Bass fishing with Capt. Brian Brown! My bass fishing trip with Capt. Brian Brown was awesome! He was great to talk to and knew where to go and helped make a great four hours of fishing even better! We caught a bunch of fish all the way up to one over eight pounds! Going back!
Captain Robert Alfano is awesome! We (males aged 18, 20, and 76) went on a 6 hour bass fishing charter with Captain Rob on Okeechobee on 3JAN 2019. Rob put us on good fish, joked with us, and had quality equipment. Would recommend for anyone who wants to learn more about fishing with wild shiners for big Florida bass. Pictured is a 7lber we caught today!

Good Time Booked a fishing trip to celebrate my father and sonâs birthday. The booking process was easy and they were able to accommodate 4 people which is not easy on a bass boat and and worked with our needs. The captain was knowledgeable, friendly and tried his best to make sure we had the best experience. Although the fish werenât bitting as much as we hoped, 17 in 4.5 hours kept us happy. I would strongly recommend Captain George!

Dream come true Fishing Lake Okeechobee for giant largemouth bass has been a bucket list item of mine for a long time. Our guide Mark Shepard, was very honest and realistic of slow fishing conditions but gave us his very best effort and put me on an Okeechobee giant. It was a dream come true for me. We will be back in December.

Bass Fishing with Dave Lauer 3 of us fished with Dave Lauer at Lake Okeechobee, met at Slimâs Marina for bait and launched at the boat ramp nearby. We were in the boat leaving the boat ramp at the crack of dawn and we fished all morning and caught a lot of fish. So many, we lost track of the count. Each of us caught at least one bass over 4 lbs, one of us caught one about 5 lbs and all of us caught at least 6-8 bass and several channel catfish. We caught fish nearly non-stop and really didnât have time to eat lunch. Fishing with Dave was like fishing with a family friend, he was comfortable to fish with, funny and he really put us on the fish. Any time Iâm bass fishing near Okeechobee Dave Lauer is the only guy Iâll go with. Heâs a confident pro and knows bass. All of us said his was our best day of fishing- ever. Hereâs one the the biggest bass my son caught. What a day!!

Awesome day on the water. Dave was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful with putting us in the right spot for the wind and sun conditions. I caught several fish and Dave took awesome pics of the biggest ones. I caught several more than expected. I will definitely do another trip with Dave on my next trip to Florida.

Great Okeechobee Bass Fishing Trip We visited during late July/early August, which as we learned is also the toughest fishing of the year on Okeechobee due to the heat. In spite of the tough conditions, our guides Mark & Dave were able to put both boats onto great fish. We caught in excess of 30 bass, and were even able to land one over 5lbs! Incredible trip, great service, knowledgeable guides, great gear and boats.

Another Great Trip Shout out to Mark Shepherd for another great trip for my Dad and son!! They had so much fun and caught some great fish and will definitely be back for Trip 3 as soon as possible! Highly recommend a guided trip with this group!! Keep up the good work!!
A Great Experience I have fished in New England a lot but wanted to see what was so special about Okeechobee. My fiance got us a gift certificate for a guided trip with bass online. They were very easy to book with and when our trip was cancelled (death in the family) they worked with us to reschedule when we made up our trip a few weeks later. Our rescheduled trip turned out to be bad storms so again they flexible and accommodated us the next morning. Once we arrived Capt. Mike Groshon gave us great advice as to what would give us our best odds of catching fish. He put us on a great spot and my fiance and I were pulling them in right away. He is a very nice guy and I enjoyed talking with him over out on the water. Lake O is beautiful and very different than anything Ive fished up north. I really enjoyed my trip and will do it again, with Capt Mike if at all possible!

Challenging but rewarding Captain Mark Rogers was great, he knew I preferred to fish artificial baits, and equipped with that information, he navigated us into the grass where the morning bite was good. When that began to taper, he was quick to move our location in an attempt to find the fish amidst the glaring mid day sun. He was a great source of knowledge and had no qualms about sharing it (I asked A LOT of questions). To wrap up the day, we spent the last hour or so winding down fishing shiners, while being accompanied by a family of Manatees, who seemed to be intrigued by our presence, as they were within inches of the boat at times. The day climaxed when I landed a monster 7.5 pounder! I will not hesitate to book with Mark again in the future.

Walt Allison and walter Allison jr. Let me first start off by saying are guide Capt. Dave Lauer was top notch. We booked 3 trips had Dave for all 3 trips. 2 On okeechobee n 1 On lake Osborn. We learned which in hind sight I already knew I should of book the trip in Jan or Feb. but on are first day in the first hr my son caught an 8.2 pound large mouth n I caught an 8 pound even. Plus plenty of 3,4, n 5 pounders. The trip on lake Osborn was slow. Something going on in the lake. Lots of dead fish but we were still able to catch are first peacock bass n first clown knife and a needle fish. Peacock bass fight tremendously. Biggest weighing 5 or 6 pounds. What a great trip. Will definitely use this service again. I personally recommend this out fit. Top notch service. All about our fishing experience n satisfaction. Dave went way above and beyond to make are trip a success. Which I might add it was. If u want to know if Iâm experienced enough as a bass fisherman to make these bold statements about this trip just visit my fb page n look at my pictures of my New Jersey catches. Fishing is one of my passions. I wanted a 10 + pounder but didnât get it but I did get an 8 pounder and I donât know how many people can make that statement. I was told are pics were up on this website but I havenât located them yet. Again I personally recommend this outfit and my experience with Capt. Dave Lauer was to say the least was top notch. If ur planning a trip to fish Florida I implore u to get in touch with this outfit. I will request Capt. Dave Lauer again. Thanks again Dave. U made the trip of a father and son team a trip of a lifetime with memories n fish stories to share for the rest or are lives with are family. Again thank you.

Lake okeechobee Went out for 2 half day trips with captain mike groshon out of belle glade. He was an outstanding guide who went above and beyond to help my 7 year old with a broken arm catch fish. We had a great time and caught some nice bass. I would definitely recommended. Captain mike.

Mark Rose I recently booked a family trip for my dad, brother and myself with Mark Rose on lake erie 5-12-18. We booked way and advance and were dealt some bad weather on the day of the trip. We woke up to 40 degree temperatures and severe storms closing in. An hour into our day we got chased off the lake by lightning. Mark was great about it and from the safety of shore we decided to wait it out. After some early lunch and killing time in a local sporting goods store, we got back on the water in the early afternoon and he put us on the fish. All together we caught 40 small mouth all 3 to 5 pounds. The biggest, and my dads personal best, was 5 pounds 9 ounces. What started out as a bad dream ended up as a great day of fishing. Id like to thank Mark for sticking it out through the storm and putting us on some great fish. If you looking for a great lake erie small mouth trip call Mark Rose. Justin.

Okeechobee city bass fishing Brian Brown was our guide. We had four people on his boat. He handled it with ease and we had the greatest trip of bass fishing that I have ever had. We caught one 5 1/4 pounder and we released at least 10 over 18 inches. We caught many more in the 12 to 18 slot . God put us on the spot, short trip out, short trip back-a beautiful day was had by all

Captain Brian Brown We (70 year old grand parents and an eight year old grandchild) went out on a four hour afternoon charter with Captain Brian Brown. We caught 16 bass and lost almost as many as we caught due to lack of experience - everyone caught at least one four pound or larger bass. Capt. Brown was knowledgeable, personable and quite helpful with those of us who hadn't fished before.

Great fishing Lake O My wife, 2 teenage sons and I had a great afternoon fishing Lake Okeechobee with Captain Mark Rogers. He had a nice boat that fit us all and he was very fun to fish with. We fish for Bass in Michigan, but mainly with artificial bait. We fished Lake O with Live bait. It was different, but fun. Capt Mark took time to teach us how to hook the big bass. We fished multiple spots to keep the action going. We caught enough to make us want to go back and we will definitely go with Capt Mark again.

Lake Okeechobee fishing trip I brought my 14 year old son who was on his make a wish trip to Florida. My 13 year old nephew also was with us. Captain Rob Alfano was excellent he took care of my boys like they were his own. We caught 35 Bass and had twice as many laughs. I couldn't be more satisfied with our experience. I will be returning to fish with Captain Alfano in the future.

FANTASTIC ADVENTURE with Cpt. Shepard We are family with relatively no fishing experience. For his 10th birthday, my son asked to go fishing. He'd been fishing but no luck catching any :-( He brags to anyone who will listen how he caught multiple fish on his birthday. My 11 y/o daughter who swore she was not going to fish, couldn't resist getting in on the action. Cpt. Shepard was awesome, very professional with a great sense of humor - WE SHALL NEVER FORGET OUR 1st FISHING TRIP on Lake Okeechobee or OUR 1st FISHING CAPTAIN!

Bass Fishing with Larry Experienced informative guide who put us on fish. Knew the waters, entertaining conversations. Professional and on time. We live baited which was quite effective for bass. Keep in mind you purchase the live air. Highly recommend Larry Crossman.
Great experience Iâve lived in South Florida now for 13 years and never fished on Lake O. I booked this trip with Capt Mark Rose and he exceeded my expectations and took us out and put us on some monster bass. Iâve heard this Lake had some of the best bass fishing in the country and now I can confirm it. We caught nearly 30 fish in our 4 hour trip. One bass was 7.94lbs, one was 6.8lbs and several others in the 5-6lb range. If youâve never fished on this Lake, youâre missing out. I highly recommend Mark Rose as your guide, heâll put you on some very nice fish. Thanks again for the great experience.

Lake Okeechobee with Capt Dave Lauer My wife and I did an afternoon charter with Capt Dave Lauer. We had a great time with Dave, this was a first for us fishing with shiners and he helped us with this new experience. We caught bass and also a couple other species like bowfin, gar and catfish that I wasn't expecting. It was a great day of fishing and looking forward to fishing with Capt Dave again.

On the hunt for a trophy bass My son, Michael, and I spent three days with Mike Groshon hunting for trophy bass. We were treated extremely well. Mike knows his business. As always, he instilled confidence in us as we pursued our goal. We would recommend him to anyone interested in bass fishing.

Captain Rob Captain Rob exceeded our expectations. Hard day to fish with wind blowing from the east. We caught 14 fish. Largest 5lbs+ all but one averaged 2 to 3 lbs. He worked tirelessly to keep our poles baited and cased in the right location. Great experience and will use him again.

Bass and more Bass We went on a fishing guided tour with Captain Brian Brown. Your captain can make or break your trip and our captain was right on. We caught 33 fish between the 2 of us and even though the conditions were not ideal (cold and wind) our captain was able to keep it very enjoyable as we reeled in fish after fish. We did not bait a hook or take off a fish all day as it was obvious we were on vacation. Thanks again Captain Brian Brown

BIG O trip 2018 Capt. Brian Brown was awesome. He is entertaining and yet put us on fish. His knowledge really showed due to the poor weather. We caught over 30 fish. My largest was 7 lbs 2 oz. My buddy's was 6 lbs 5 oz. And our 5 best easily went 26-27 lbs. Incredible day on the water. I highly recommend any body that's in the Lake Okeechobee area to hire Capt Brian Brown. It will be an awesome day on the Big O.

Great day of fishing despite the weather!! We met with our captain on our scheduled day. A massive cold front had moved in dropping the water temps by 10 degrees. The wind was at 20 mph. But Captian Larry Crossman stuck with it and found us some bass. My biggest was a nearly 5 pound largemouth, my biggest ever. I'd go back on this charter in a heartbeat.

Incredible fishing My buddy and I met our Captain Brian Brown in Clewiston Fl at the Jolly Roger Marina for 7AM. After a quick discussion, we went and launched at the boat ramp next to the on Hoover Dike Rd. In about five minutes we were in the boat and onto Lake Okeechobee fishing. Captain Brian Brown was AWSOME! He took us right to where the fish were and with in a few minutes we were on nice large mouth bass. Captain Brown was very knowledgable of where to drop our bait, different ways of presenting it and helping us set the hooks the correct way. My buddy and I had an absolute blast with Captain Brian Brow, and would recommed him to anyone that wants to have a great day of fishing.

Had a blast Captain George put us on the fish. Had a great time. Very relaxing. Wives this is the way to be introduced to fishing. You donât have to bait the hook or take them off your line. No fights with hubby and he can do his own thing. You will love pulling in the big one with him in the boat! Thanks Captain George.

Great day in the water Fished with Mike out of Torry Island near Belle Glade on lake Ockeechobee. Had my 6 year old daughter with me and had a great time ... 4 hour afternoon trip landed 22 large mouth.... mike a great guide and look forward to fishing with him again !!
why book Capt. Mark Rose? I picked a cool day after a near freeze to book my first guide. not the best choice. I picked Capt Mark Rose. the best choice. he had me on fish right away and kept me in action all day despite the fact that few others we talked to or saw were catching much of anything. my experience on Okochobee was so positive that I will travel to lake Erie this spring to fish with Mark again. if you can only book one guide this year, make sure it's Capt. Mark Rose.

Fished Okeechobee with Dave Lauer Dave is a fastastic guide. This is the second time we fished Okeechobee with him. Both times we caught many Largemouth Bass. All were good size. Several were huge! Dave knows the lake and where the fish are. Heâs also focused on your success and is a nice guy.

Capt Galen Fugh gave us a great day of fishing! Even though it was chilly and windy, Capt Galen Fugh helped my brother and me catch 31 bass in one day! We each caught bass over 6lbs and a few 3-4 pounders too, on top of all the others. Capt Galen Fugh was professional, personable, and fun to be with. We hope to go fishing with him again.

Awesome Trip Went on a spontaneous trip with Capt. George Mrozinski, had a great time. Even with the cold weather Capt. George put us on some fish. We are able to mark "hook some bass on Okeechobee " off our bucket list! Thanks George for a great day on the water!
This is why you need a good guide Captain Dave found out very quickly with the cooler weather that day that areas that worked great in prior days were very slow ... so he went to at least 10 different areas before we started to consistently hit good fish. Turned a difficult day into a great day....thx!

Cold front was'nt a problem. On the morning of my fishing trip it was only 41* even a little cold for this Minnesotan. But that wasn't going to be a problem, not much different than springtime fishing at home. I fished with guide Mark Rogers. He was everything anyone could ask for. On time, very friendly and most of all knew where the fish were. (I did get a giggle about all the clothes he wore to go out, bibs parka, hat and face mask) But he isn't from Minnesota so he gets a bye on that one. His boat and gear were all in perfect working condition. We fished with live shiners. I had never fished with them before, this also was my first time in Florida and fishing the BigO. The action was almost nonstop. I caught a lot of bass and I even caught a 5 lb. catfish. My biggest bass was a nice 5+ not really what I was looking for but two of the fish I lost coming to the boat were sure the ones I was looking for. Mark was great to fish with very knowledgeable about the lake and things around the surrounding area. I would recommend using him for your fishing adventure. Thanks again Mark for making my adventure all I could ask for.

Late December fishing Lake Okeechobee with captain Brett Isaackson We had great fun fishing two days with Brett Isaackson on Lake Okeechobee. We caught a large number of largemouth bass up to 8lbs over two days fishing. We had a great time and good conversation with Brett. He is fun to fish with and made our experience very enjoyable. We definitely will try to book him again when we return.

Have a great trip Captain Rob took my son and my grandson who is seven years old because 7 pound bass Along with other Very good family early my son and my grandson Captain Rob did a half-day trip long enough for the seven-year-old caught lots of fish just forgot her food but made it to KFC afterwards will be back soon

amazing two days of fishing!!! Captain Mark Shepard gave my two 14 year old boys two amazing full days of fishing! They caught so many fish down in Clewiston Florida that we lost count! Captain Mark kept these boys laughing and entertained and gave them 100% of his attention! Both boys caught their personal best 8 1/2 and 7 3/4 lb bass! I highly recommend bassonline! This is our 2nd year with them and will definitely use them again! We were not even out of the parking lot and these boys were begging me to plan another trip here with them! Thank you Captain Mark for making this trip an amazing one!

So much fun We purchased 1/2 day on Okeechobee as a Christmas gift for our 16 year old grandson. It was perfect. Captain Rob Alfano was skilled, knowledgable, and helpful. I'm so glad he recommended using live bait. Between the three of us we caught over 20 bass. The biggest, caught by my grandson, tipped the scales at 6 lbs. We plan to go again on the grandsons next visit from Virginia.

Lake Okeechobee with Captain Dave Lauer We had two fun, productive days on Lake Okeechobee. Dave Lauer put us on fish right away, and then the action never stopped. We fished both live and artificial baits, with the live bait outperforming (worth the cost). I highly recommend Dave if you are looking for a fishing guide.

BEST TIME of our entire vacation! I cannot begin to say how completely wonderful Captain Brian Brown was. We caught over 40 fish and had a blast! Brian was knowledgeable and fun to be with. I recommend this for anyone visiting Florida! You will not be sorry!!!

3 days of Okeechobee Slaunches Just spent 3 days on the water with Captain Brian Brown with BassOnline with my 2 boys (8 and 5) we had three action packed days catching approx. 150 fish and averaging 1 fish every 8 minutes. Captain Brown is a superb captain and great person to spend a few days with. I have fished with him in the past and was very fortunate to be able to fish with him again. He worked really hard for me and my boys to have 3 very successful days when others were not doing so well around us. Book Captain Brown for an enjoyable world class trip on the Big âOâ

Captain Rob! Best guided trip I have ever been on and one of the best fisherman i have ever met.. Got us on some quality fish on a tough morning with a cool front coming through and truly would have been worth my money if I never got a bite #robertalfano#okeechobee
Great Fishing with Rob Alfano on Lake Okeechobee We fished half a day our of both Clewiston and Kissimmee River area of the lake. It was really enjoyable and our guide definitely put us on fish. Rob was a great guide and very personable and we really enjoyed our time with him. We both preferred the northern area of the lake although both areas were productive and fun.

Good afternoon of fishing! I got this trip for my husband and son, after Captain Crossman go them to their location it was nothing but continuous reeling in of fish. I was hoping that they at least were able to catch a few, but it was much more than that and, not to mention, the biggest ones they have ever caught! They never moved from that spot, they didn't need to. Since we are not from the area we were not aware of the cost of live bait, we were aware it was additional to the outing but be prepared for an additional $20-24 per dozen. All in all great fishing day!

Dave was great Pros - Dave was so friggin nice and fun to be around - hooked us up to plenty of bass on both live bait and jerk baits Cons - rod and reels seemed very old. - didnât find out the quantity or cost of live bait til after he picked them up ($20/dozen) Bottom Line Despite the cons, I would def go with him again in a heartbeat! It was the best bass fishing day of my life!!

Best Guide Bass Online's Mark Shepard is the best guide I have ever used. I have been fishing for 65 years. I've been using guides for 30 years. Mark is by far the best. He knows Lake Okeechobee like it was his living room. When conditions are bad Mark will figure out something different to find the fish. Last week I fished with Mark on Okeechobee for 3 days. I had a friend with me for 2 of the days. In total my friend and I caught 202 bass in 3 days. The biggest was 8 pounds and we had several 5-7 pounders. There was a big tournament on the lake on the first day. Most of the tournament anglers were fishless. Mark figured out what to do and we caught 57 bass that day when most people never got a bite. Too bad we weren't entered in the tournament.

Awsome Trip Spent a Great day on the water with Captain Mark Shepard. This is my second trip with Mark. Always a fun time. Mark is very knowledgeable about Okeechobee. Mark is one of those guys who takes care of the client. Itâs your day on the water, you do the Fishing and Mark makes you feel right at home. Canât wait for the next trip. Everyone at bass online thank you for putting it all together. 5-STARS.

Great Guides, Quality Service! Went today with Guides Larry, Brian & Mike for a cool video shoot about bass fishing, beautiful day, these guys knew exactly where to go, even on a cool day. They know their business and Bass Online is a professional, first class service...plus they're friendly and make every trip a great experience!

Was able to achieve my personal best single day bass fishing! Canât say enough about the half day trip recently taken! Captain Brian Brown is an excellent guide and would definitely recommend his guide service to everyone! Already trying to plan something with my brother-in-law to go on another trip. We were quite pleased with the quantity and size of bass we caught on a half day trip! I can actually say I was exhausted at the end of our trip! If you ever get a chance to go on one of Captain Brianâs trips you have to do it! Thank you for the OUTSTANDING DAY!

Great time I Fished with two different captains for two different types of fish, captain Mike Groshon for peacock bass on lake ida, and Captain Mark Shepard on the big âoâ ( lake Okeechobee) they both worked hard to put me on the fish and it was two great days on the water boating lots of fish

Best 21 st Birthday Ever This was a gift to my son for his 21st Birthday. We are avid fishermen so we know there are no guarantees. Captain Robert Alfano put us on the fish from the jump and I will go back out with him as soon as possible. Cap was awesome in every way and we just seem to hit it off with him. This was a trip of a lifetime and we will never forget it!

Fishing with Rob My wife and I went fishing with Robert (Rob) Alfano on 9/21/17. Although the fishing was not great under the post hurricane conditions, Rob went well beyond tying to find fish to make our day a memorable one. Despite the slow fishing, Rob was a great captain and very personable as well. We look forward in returning to fish again with Rob real soon. Mark & Billie Mann

Fishing with Rob Alfano Captain Rob was a great guide. He was super friendly and fun to be around. He tailored our trip to the types of fishing we wanted to do and advised us on what techniques he thought would work best for the time of year we fished. He did a great job of putting us on the fish despite the crazy lake conditions due to the recent hurricanes. He made a "bucket list" trip come true for our group and we would not hesitate to fish with him again!

Honeymoon Fishing Capt. Mark Shepherd was great, he was really friendly, courteous and put us on the fish even just after hurricane Irma and was really impressed on his professionalism and would recommend to any fisherman wanting to fish lake okeechobee, thanks again Mark you guys are awesome

Capt Rob Alfano was great Fishing is rough right now on Lake Okeechobee, but Capt Rob Alfano was able to bring us to locations where we were able to catch a good number of good size bass. He was very good working with my son on fishing techniques and made our trip a lot of fun and successful. He even sent us the pictures that he took.

Okeechobee 6 hour fishing with Captain Mark Shepherd everything went off on time, equipment was up to date and performed well. Our guide, Captain Mark Shepherd put us on big bass in hot August and we caught several fish, which is unusual in August. Captain Shepherd worked very hard at baiting and netting our catches. I heartily recommend him for a successful fishing venture.

Half day with Dave Lauer What a great day on the lake. Dave put us on the fish from the time we left the dock to the time we returned. I didn't expect a lot in August, but it was an overcast, breezy day and my son and I caught the heck out of the fish. If we were in a tournament, we would have been in the money..no problem. Dave is a really great guy and his knowledge of the lake and bass habitat are awesome. His personal experience as a pro is a real plus and got us to the best baits quickly... The trip was as good as it gets...everything was right. We will be getting with Dave again the next time in So. Florida.

Great Bass Fishing Trip with Larry Crossman! We had a great time with Larry Cross man as our fishing guide. He gave is lots of tips and insights on how to fish for bass, but also the town of Okeechobee and the lake itself. Had a lot of action until the sun came out and it got hot, but we had a blast. Thanks Larry!

Big I have wanted to fish the Big "O" for as long as I can remember. My guide was Capt.Mark "Turtle" Hilles. We had a great time. Turtle taught me a few things I had never tried before. We didn't set any records but who cares!!! Just being on a boat on a lake and fishing was what I went to Florida for!!!

Best Guided Trip Ever! I'm writing this review on behalf of my dad and my teenage son⦠I booked them a three day guided fishing trip with Mark Shepard and he was beyond amazing with our family! My dad had always dreamed of fishing on Lake Okeechobee and it finally came true and he cannot stop talking about how awesome this trip was! Mark was be on what we could ever ask for on a fishing guide, lots of fun, very helpful, the list goes on and on! I can't say enough good things about Mark and his personality and his guiding abilities! If ever in doubt don't be and just book this trip he won't be disappointed! We are already planning a trip back for January or February maybe next year the next!

Mark Shepard the best guide in the world I have been bass fishing for 60 years. I have fished all over the world. The best guide I have ever used is Capt. Mark Shepard. He knows how to find the bass on Lake Okeechobee. On my 69th birthday he put me on an 11lb 3 oz bass, the biggest of my life. I have used mark for 10 years and will continue to go to Florida every year to fish with Mark. I should'nt give him such good reviews so he would be available more often for me but too many people already know how good he is.. If you call BASS ONLINE and can't get Mark don't worry. Ask your guide to call Mark to find out what the fish are doing. All the guides at BASS ONLINE work together to make sure you have a great time.

Okeechobee in the summer My son and I fished Okeechobee in late June on a still, sunny morning with Captain Brett Isackson. In 4 hours we landed 30 bass, one of which was almost 10 lbs. It was incredible, the quality of fish was great and Captain Brett could not have been better. If you want a great experience call and ask for Captain Brett Isackson.

Exploring Lake Okeechobee By Foot
You must consider that if you are exploring a fishing trip to Lake Okeechobee, Florida, for the first time, traveling on foot is concerning. However, if you have naturalized all parties with the terrain, fishing on foot from the shoreline can be a way of identifying the extent of the lake’s serenity.
There are infinite alternative areas for bank fishing, and these are the grassy banks, concrete walkways, fishing piers, and so on, which can be found by searching fishing reports online. Favorably for you, these points are fishable and walkable. However, you should also be aware that fish aren’t the only things that inhabit Okeechobee waters.
Build a Travel Guide for your Trip
The sunshine state is known for its famous Florida gators, and this is why it is advisable to find a destination to fish from piers or local boat ramps with docks. It should be safety first before your next Lake Okeechobee fishing adventure. Given that Lake Okeechobee is home to numerous freshwater game fish species. Anglers can catch mostly bluegill, crappie, speckled perch, and largemouth bass while bank fishing. Bank fishing from anywhere in freshwater requires a Florida fishing license and despite what you read, there are no peacock bass or smallmouth bass in Okeechobee.
About Lake Okeechobee
The Seminole Indian name Lake Okeechobee means “Big Water.” A proper name for the largest freshwater reservoir in the United States, occurring entirely in one state. The Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission state, “there is no place that can compare with Lake Okeechobee, not only for lunker largemouth bass, history, and wildlife but its size.”
History
Lake Okeechobee is about 37 miles long by 30 miles wide, with an average depth of only 10 feet. To fishermen nationwide, it’s renowned for the number of largemouth bass it has per acre. Lake Okeechobee produces more trophy bass over 7 pounds than any lakes in Florida and arguably the entire United States.
Lake Okeechobee is positioned in central southern Florida, north of the Everglades and south of Orlando. It links Florida’s Atlantic and Gulf sides via the Port Mayaca Lock on Okeechobee’s east side and the Moore Haven Lock on Lake Okeechobee’s western side. Drainage canals lower the lake and drain adjacent lands for farming. Agricultural activities in the Central Florida Okeechobee area include cattle ranching, dairy farming, and crop production of sugarcane, winter vegetables, citrus, sod, sweet corn, and rice.
Disaster Strikes
In 1926 and 1928, hurricane waters destroyed the dikes on the lake’s southern edge, which resulted in thousands of deaths. As a result, the Okeechobee waterway was developed as a reservoir with canals and levees built. Today, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the South Florida Water Management District direct the waters via dikes, canals, and floodgates to protect against flooding, prevent navigation of saltwater intrusion, and give water for agricultural irrigation.
It also supplies drinking water to large urban areas in the State of Florida. Unfortunately, these water management activities have much encumbered the water flow from Okeechobee to the Everglades. Instead of alternating wet and dry seasons, which provided steady sheets of water, the Everglades now receive times of drought or powerful discharges of water.
This body of water sports all types of waterway structures to fish – from open water to narrow canals surrounded by hundreds of different vegetation and grasses.
