September Big Bass Fishing

Lake Okeechobee has been getting some bad press lately. Captain Mark Shepard is here to confirm that the Algae on Lake Okeechobee have cleared up completely. Algae blooms are a reoccurring natural process that the lake goes through every year. It has not caused any fish to kill on the lake and the bass fishing has been absolutely fantastic.
Captain Mark Shepard had the pleasure of fishing with Max and Jessica who were traveling to Florida from Canada. This young couple was an absolute blast to fish with and they had a lot of fun. These late summer months call for light tackle fish which always is something great to experience. If you want to catch quality largemouth bass and feel their true power, this is the time of year to come do it.
Summer also brings about a unique approach to bass fishing here on Lake Okeechobee. The bass tends to school up heavily in open water and outside weed lines feeding on shad. Early morning is the best time to come fishing Lake Okeechobee. You can throw topwater artificial baits and have an absolute blast catching bass. These schooling fish are filled with shad and fight really hard. Most are in the range of 1-3 pounds.
Okeechobee never fails
Max got the chance to experience the rare occasion of a school of big fish. When you explore Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing you never know what the next cast will bring you. Max threw an artificial bait and got a big explosion. As he set the hook, he knew it was a big bass! Watching that fish come out of the water was one of the most breathtaking moments for him. The next thing that was amazing was getting his personal best bass in his hands. Max landed a 7.25-pound female largemouth bass that was long and extremely exciting to catch on light tackle.
Along with the big fish, Max and Jessica caught some quality numbers and size bass. Water levels are higher than normal making for a great day of bass fishing. It allowed us to get back into places that we normally can’t. Captain Mark is looking forward to fishing with this amazing couple again in the future!

Summer Clewiston Bass Fishing
Summer Months can be extremely productive on the world-renowned Lake Okeechobee. When you come fishing on the Big O, you never know what you will catch. Randy and Roger came out fishing on Lake Okeechobee with Captain Mark for two days. Randy has been fishing for a long time and loves to come fish with Captain Mark on Lake Okeechobee. Roger is a new friend and loves bass fishing too. They had to go out and tackle some big bass on artificial baits only.

Randy and Roger caught most of their fish on Bass Assassin baits from “die dapper” to “fat jobs.” They landed great numbers on this fishing trip with big bass in the boat. Randy caught his personal best weighing in at 8.75 pounds. They also caught several other quality bass.

When fishing on Lake Okeechobee you have to be careful of the grass flats. The water is getting shallow in some areas. You can get yourself into some trouble if you do not know where or how to navigate. Get with a professional to learn all the ways if you need it.
Just shortly after having a fantastic day to remember, Captain Mark went out on another great fishing trip. John and his 10-year-old son Jay were looking to get hooked up on some Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing. They were traveling from Pennsylvania on some much-needed family vacation time.
Captain Mark had a great time on the water teaching young Jay new techniques on spinning equipment. One of his favorite parts of being a guide is the ability to share his knowledge with the youth! Jay will leave this fishing trip with tips to take back home and apply on his local lakes.
They landed great numbers on this fishing trip with bass up to 3 pounds. It was not like the last fishing trip but just a relaxing day catching Florida largemouth bass. Captain Mark Shepard is looking forward to fishing with these fine gentlemen again in the future!

When it comes to Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing, sometimes you have to start a little rivalry to make the fishing even better. Michael and his father Bill came out Clewiston Bass Fishing with Captain Mark. They love to bass fishing and always love getting the opportunity to get out on this amazing lake. The Big O blessed them with a successful day on the water.
It is always a dream to come fishing on Lake Okeechobee and to land your personal best largemouth bass. They were out on a 4-hour fishing trip and both caught two big bass. Michael caught 6.75-pound largemouth bass and his father Bill caught one right at 5 pounds. The most effective bait was wild shiners but you can also catch them this time of year on artificial baits.

Captain Robert Alfano is one of the best Captains on the north end of the Lake out of Okeechobee City. Heath and Patrick came out fishing looking for some quality Lake Okeechobee Largemouth Bass Fishing. They were in the store for an amazing day.
Heath and Patrick adventured out for a quick 4-hour fishing trip catching 30 bass. Fish were held in skinny water and wherever the water was the cleanest. Lake Okeechobee Bass are concentrating and schooling up this time of year which is the perfect time to come catch them. If you find clean water, you are most certainly going to find some bass.
Captain Rob is looking forward to the next time Heath and Patrick adventure south and wants to catch some Lake Okeechobee Bass.

It was not long after this fishing trip that Captain Rob went out on the water again with Richard aka “Dickie.” Dickie was traveling from Iowa looking to catch some Largemouth Bass on Lake Okeechobee. The Big O did not disappoint with another amazing fishing trip in the books.
Dickie landed 31 quality largemouth bass with the biggest fish weighing 5 pounds. Water level fluctuations have the bass on the move. Continue to find cleaner water and you will find the bass. Captain Rob knows where all the hidden clean water spots are and can help you find the fish.

Clewiston, Florida is home to some of the BEST bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee. Even though you can catch quality bass all around the lake, the big fish like to stock up down south. Joe was traveling from Washington D.C. looking for a true Lake Okeechobee Fishing Adventure. He wanted to spend three days on the lake with his good friend, Captain Mark. Joe is a great American hero and a retired vet from the Military and loves to bass fish.
We had a fantastic time fishing with Joe with some great numbers in the boat. Joe caught a lot of 3-4 pounders with fish up to 6 pounds. A mix of live wild-caught shiners along with artificial baits including topwater, worms, and lipless crankbaits put bass in the boat. These summertime largemouth bass are pulling hard and providing fun trips for our clients.

June Weekend Bass Fishing
June has been an excellent month to adventure out bass fishing in Florida. Whichever part of the state you are traveling and vacationing, you can find excellent bass fishing. The largemouth bass is freshwaters top game fish. They can give you a thrill of life when setting the hook into a trophy bass. Bring your family along for some June weekend bass fishing while the action is still hot.

Several key locations have been producing great fishing. If you are in Central Florida, Lake Toho has been on fire with big bass being caught daily. Lake Okeechobee also has been amazing especially out of Clewiston, Florida. South Florida fishing for Peacock Bass has also been ultra-productive in Miami on Airport Lakes.
Starting from North to South, Central Florida is a hot spot for bass fishing. Captain Brent Nelson is a local expert that understands and fishes Lake Toho on a daily basis. When you are looking to experience Kissimmee, Lake Toho Bass Fishing is all you need.
Jason and Greg were traveling from Colorado to explore what the Lake had to offer. They went out on a quick 4-hour fishing trip catching great numbers. Artificial and live baits were effective on this fishing charter. Captain Brent took them to the spots that were producing.
Jason and Greg landed 30 bass in 4 hours with the biggest largemouth bass weighing 7.23 pounds. 8 of those fish came on artificial baits. The baits that were working the best were Zoom speed worms and super flukes. When you fish these baits over sparse Kissimmee grass, you are able to entice a great bite.
Captain Brent is looking forward to fishing with these gentlemen again.

The afternoon brought about some more amazing action. Captain Brent had the pleasure of fishing with Kim who was traveling from North Dakota to catch some big bass. When you fish Lake Toho, your first fish can be the best one you have ever caught. Kim landed a 6-pound largemouth bass which ended up being her personal best.
Along with these big bass, she also caught around 30 fish. Overcast and breezy conditions allowed for a strong bite. It kept the day cooler. Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective on this fishing trip.
Captain Brent is looking forward to fishing with Kim next time she wants to Experience Kissimmee.

Traveling just a short drive further south, Lake Okeechobee was heating up. Captain Mark Shepard spent all weekend on the water with his long-time friend and valued client, Jim Robertson. Jim loves to throw artificial baits and that’s what we targeted most of the fishing charters.
Spinnerbaits and topwater baits were highly effective on this fishing trip. Jim caught several quality largemouth bass in the weight range of 3-4 pounds. He loves to just set the hook but is always ready to land that giant that resides and lives on Lake Okeechobee. June Weekend Bass Fishing Charters in Miami
As we adventure into Deep South Florida, we come to Miami. When it comes to peacock bass fishing in Florida, this is the MECCA. Captain Robert Miley is the absolutely peacock bass fishing expert. Whether you just love the action and hard fight or if you are looking for a trophy, Captain Miley is you, man!
Aaron and Colby were traveling from Colorado Springs to fish Miami International Airport Lakes. Aaron was taking a break from protecting the community as a Police officer in Colorado Springs. Colby is an EMT which was also something he needed some time in sunny South Florida for.
They had two amazing days of fishing this weekend which made for a perfect addition to their vacation time. When they caught their first peacock bass, it surprised them how hard they fought. These exotic bass have a fight like no other and you just have to experience it for yourself. Aaron and Colby landed 40 bass on their two-day adventure with the biggest being 3.5 pounds. This was their personal best bass as they only caught a 3 pounder in Colorado.
Live bait and sexy shad jerk baits were the most effective bait when fishing for peacock bass. South Florida Peacock Bass Fishing is by far the best summer activity you can partake in. Captain Miley is looking forward to fishing with these two gentlemen again in the future!
