Weekend Harris Chain Fishing for Florida Largemouth Bass

Weekend Harris Chain Fishing for Florida Largemouth Bass

Weekend Harris Chain Fishing

The Harris Chain of Lakes is a legendary bass fishery. Bass fishing is iconic on this chain of lakes as many tournaments and big bass have been caught here throughout the years. If you are looking for an awesome fishing adventure, get out on the water with a local expert that can help get you on some quality bass. Come enjoy a weekend Harris Chain fishing trip next time visiting Central Florida.

Our local expert and Captain Steve had the pleasure of fishing with Harold and Jimmy. They wanted to change things up today and head up to the Harris Chain of Lakes. FWC made the fishing tougher than normal as they were spraying the lake to prevent grass growth. They fished the lake hard and found several quality largemouth bass.

Bass fishing on the Harris Chain of Lakes focuses in on underwater springs and clear water. The bass were blowing up on the shiners making for an exciting day on the water. It was a lot of fun for Harold and Jimmy to experience this for 6 hours. The fishing conditions were perfect and the weather was nice.

Jimmy caught the first bass along with 3 bowfins. They are fun to catch as they pull and fight hard. After picking away at some decent fish, Captain Steve made a move. Jimmy caught a gar at their next spot while Harold was looking to catch that big bass. Shortly after this, Harold gets hooked up to something of quality. He brought in a 4 pound largemouth bass making his day. Right after that, he also landed a nice 2 pound bass.

Captain Steve Niemoeller is looking forward to fishing with these awesome gentlemen again in the future! For everyone else out there, for all your fresh or saltwater fishing needs, contact us here and we will be glad to help!

The Harris Chain is a great lake to catch some nice bass. As the colder months approach us, the bass will begin to spawn. When this occurs, the big females will come out to play. Don’t miss out on your Central Florida adventure next time visiting. Bring along the friends, family and kids to experience something worthwhile. We look forward to fishing with you next time!

Harris Chain Artificial Fishing Adventure

Harris Chain Artificial Fishing Adventure

Harris Chain Artificial Fishing Adventure

Florida Fishing on your birthday is one of the best presents you can receive. Big bass can be caught this time of year on your Harris Chain Artificial Fishing Adventure.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Gordon and his step son David. Gordon was traveling from Key West and David was from Washington. It was Gordon’s sixtieth birthday and his wife got him the best gift possible.

While on vacation, they wanted to explore what Orlando had to offer. The Harris Chain of Lakes blessed them with a great day out on the water.

They caught a number of largemouth bass with both artificial baits and wild caught live shiners. David caught a 5 pound 2 ounce bass on a spinner bait and Gordon caught a 5 pound 7 ounce on a shiner.

Most of the fish came from flipping a worm but they also caught them on a bass assassin boss shiner. Dragging it over the Kissimmee grass was the most effective method for the swim bait. The tap out also worked very well, which is a slick worm.

I look forward to fishing with these gentlemen again and made a good friend on this trip.

Preparation Bass Fishing Charter

Preparation Bass Fishing Charter

Preparation Bass Fishing Charter

Eustis, Florida is one of the best locations in Central Florida to catch largemouth bass. It is also a great place for a preparation bass fishing charter for an upcoming tournament.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Chase and Chase traveling shortly from Plant City, Florida. They are preparing for an upcoming tournament and wanted to learn a couple new techniques to catch some monster bass on the Harris Chain of Lakes.

While teaching them interesting new baits and techniques such as flipping and how to located bass, I caught myself a couple fish. Chase and Chase put over 20 fish in the boat on their short 6 hour trip.

The summer heat is the time of year that the bass can get very finicky. The water temperature rises and they tend to shut off. Persistence always reigns supreme.

Chase and Chase started to throw different color senkos and worms from Bass Assassin Lures in the Houdin and Tap Out color. Throwing the worms into the Kissimmee grass and waiting is a very effective method this time of year.

I am looking forward to fishing with them again in the future and I wish them the best of luck and know they will be able to apply what they learned in order to crush some big bass.

Teaching New Flipping Techniques

Teaching New Flipping Techniques

Teaching New Flipping Techniques

Florida Fishing for largemouth bass is one of the best activities you can partake in when traveling to Florida. It has endless opportunity and can lead you to an adventure of a lifetime. We love Teaching New Flipping Techniques to passionate people that love the sport.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Nancy from Florida and Cameron traveling from Nevada for what the bass fishing had to offer here. Cameron is a senior in high school and is looking to learn as much as he can to grow his passion.

We spent a lot of time flipping thick vegetation for largemouth bass on the Harris Chain of Lakes. I showed him where to place the bait and how to place it. Getting your bait in quietly is key to catching the monster you are looking for. We caught multiple fish on different presentations.

The biggest fish we caught in the hot summer sun was close to 3 pounds. This will keep Cameron excited for more action on the water when he returns.

I feel confident that what we taught him in the short trip will help catch him his personal best shortly. I am looking forward to fishing with Nancy and Cameron again in the future.

February Largmouth Bass Fishing Adventure- St Johns River

February Largmouth Bass Fishing Adventure- St Johns River

February Largmouth Bass Fishing Adventure

This is Capt Steve with fishing report for the St Johns River.

Fishing the Saint Johns River is always an adventure. I had the pleasure to fish with Al and his buddies from Indiana. It was Al’s second trip recently. They normally come down once a year, so I am glad he has come back for an additional February Largmouth Bass Fishing Adventure.

The fish were a little tricky today. I ran out to a place where I know they were going to be protecting beds. It is important to key in on those structures and places when the water temperature decreases. Also, they like to hold on the deeper walls.

Our 4 hour trip landed quality fish in the boat. The biggest largemouth bass was 5 pounds 4 ounces. As the sun pushed the cold front away, the bite got better as the day went on.

I am looking forward to them coming back to fish with us again. They were amazing to fish with. Business calls but that doesn’t mean you can not squeeze in some fun.

Till next time, this is Captain Steve. Tight Lines!!

Northerners Travel for Florida Fishing Largemouth Bass

Northerners Travel for Florida Fishing Largemouth Bass

Florida Fishing Largemouth Bass

This is Capt Steve with fishing report for the Harris Chain of Lakes.

The Harris Chain of Lakes is looking quite beautiful this time of year. Pam is a local resident to the Villages and Jim is getting ready to move down here from New Hampshire. He wanted to make sure the fishing was good before he does. Northerners Travel for Florida Fishing Largemouth Bass.

He is not new to fishing. He lives on Lake Eustis and loves to throw artificial baits. I told him if he wanted a true Florida Fishing experience, we had to fish with shiners as well. Pam really enjoyed shiner fishing for the first time.

The artificial bite did not turn on as expected. Jim was persistent with his lures and had a couple on but they got off before they got to the boat. Pam made up for all the fish lost.

We had a great day on the water. I am looking forward to their return.
