Fishing with Captain John Leech

March Toho Fishing with Capt John LeechLake Toho is my home lake and waters. It is a lake I have been fishing for many years now. This trip I am about to share with you is one of the books. The bass were biting and is an indication of how the fishing is going to be in the next several weeks.

I had the pleasure of fishing with John and his daughter Nikki. They were traveling from New York looking to enjoy Florida outdoors. While doing so, Lake Toho fishing was on the menu and it sure showed up for them. It was one of the best days of fishing I’ve had in a long time.

Some days you can go out on the water and crush the bass on artificial baits when they are schooling. This time of year though calls for live bait. John and Nicki landed over 30 largemouth bass on their fishing trip with some giant fish in the mix.

Nicki caught most of the fish. The biggest fish of the trip weighed in at 7 pounds with a 6.5, 6, 5 and several other quality bass in the 3-4 pound range caught. It was a blast to watch this young girl and her father have such a great time reeling in fish.

I am looking forward to fishing with Nicki and John again on their next trip from New York!” – Capt John Leech

Fishing with Captain Steve Niemoeller

“I had the pleasure of fishing with Bob, and his two young boys Bobby and Xavier. They were 12 and 9 years of age. I think I can speak for all my fellow captains, it is trips like these that get us the most excited. It brings us back to when we were younger and got to enjoy a day on the water with our father.  March Toho Fishing Forecast - Capt Steve Niemoeller

Bob and his boys were traveling from New Hampshire. Instead of going to all the theme parks this year, they wanted to go out bass fishing on Lake Toho. Even with windy conditions, we made it happen for them.

Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective method to put bass in the boat on this fishing trip. One of the best parts was watching Bobby and Xavier catch bass all trip long. They love to bass fish back home and just had to see what Florida Bass Fishing could produce for them.

The biggest fish caught on this trip weighed in at 3.5 pounds. They also caught several bass in the 2-3 pound range with no trophies caught. It was a fun day by all!

I am looking forward to our next trip. For all your freshwater fishing needs, contact us here at Bass Online and we will be glad to help!” – Captain Steve Niemoeller

Fishing with Captain Brent Nelson

Captain Brent got the chance to fish a double on this day that really captured how the fishing will be in the upcoming weeks.

“I had the pleasure of fishing with Jeff, Noah, and Darrel Black on a Lake Toho Bass Fishing Charter out of Kissimmee. They were traveling from Canada looking to cash in on some bass fishing here in Florida. This was a morning fishing trip with wild-caught live shiners, making for a fantastic day on the water.

The most productive structure to fish almost all-year-round in Central Florida is submerged Hydrilla. When you can find quality grass around Hydrilla, it is an even better combo. Slight winds made for a strong bite in the morning and once it stopped, the bite slowed down.

Jeff, Noah, and Darrel caught over 35 largemouth bass on their fishing trip. The biggest fish weighed in at 5.5 pounds with several truly quality fish in the mix! They had a great time fishing on Lake Toho and are looking forward to getting back down here soon!

I am looking forward to our next bass fishing adventure.”

March Forecast - Capt Brent NelsonWithin hours of the last trip, Captain Brent was back out on Lake Toho with a new set of clients looking to catch some bass!

“Right after fishing with my last clients, I was back out on the water. This time, I had the pleasure of fishing with India, Andrew, and Mom. They were traveling from Minnesota looking to explore what Kissimmee, FL had to offer them.

They were new to fishing with live bait, especially wild-caught live shiners. Once I dialed them in on how to catch bass with shiners, they had a blast. The bite was slower than the morning time but they still managed to land over 25 largemouth bass.

Andrew came in strong with the biggest bass weighing close to 5 pounds. The shiners were fished around backwater areas near Kissimmee grass and spatterdock lily pads. These areas were prime for catching numbers of bass all trip long.

India, Andrew, and Mom all had a really great time fishing on Lake Toho. I am looking forward to fishing with them again soon!” – Captain Brent Nelson

Fishing with Captain Devin Dickerson

Every now and then, Lake Toho really shows it’s true colors. This trip to come is one of the main reasons you come explore what Florida Bass Fishing has to offer, cause you just never know what you will catch. Also, this report is a highlight of our March Toho Fishing forecast!

“I had the pleasure of fishing with the Lindsey Family. They were traveling from Upstate New York looking to soak in some Florida sunshine. While doing so, bass fishing was one of the outdoor experiences they had to try. On their first day of fishing, they had such a great time on the water that they immediately booked another trip.  March Toho Fishing Forecast 3

It was on the second trip that the true magic happened. As we always recommend, live bait is the most successful method to catch largemouth bass here in Florida. The Lindsey Family went out on Lake Toho on the pontoon fishing vessel looking to see what they could catch the second time.

Lake Toho woke up for them and showed them a fantastic trip they will never forget. Everyone on board had their share of catching some quality largemouth bass but two of the family members cashed in on GIANT TROPHY bass. These fish weighed in at 9.5 pounds and 8.8 pounds. It is not every day that you catch two big bass like this in one trip.

Sunny and beautiful weather only made this trip complete. It was one that this family will never forget and I am forever grateful to have the opportunity to show them such a great time on the water. I am most certainly looking forward to fishing with them again in the near future!” – Capt Devin Dickerson

Fishing with Captain Bill Goudy Jr on Lake Toho

“Lake Toho has been on fire lately and all of our team captains have been catching some big bass. It is a testament of what is to come in the near future!

I had the pleasure of fishing two trips with Gary and his friend Greg. While traveling from Washington D.C, Gary did not expect to experience what he did. Greg is a Florida local that loves to get outdoors. When his friend Gary was visiting, they wanted to explore Lake Toho in Kissimmee, FL.

I had the honor of getting a chance to fish with them for two days. One was a morning trip and the other was an afternoon fishing trip. Both trips were absolutely fantastic and productive for catching largemouth bass.

March Toho Fishing Trophy Bass On their first fishing trip out on the water, Gary caught the biggest bass of his life. It weighed in at 9 pounds even. Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective method to catch bass on both fishing trips. Submerged grass on the main lake was the most productive for landing some quality bass.

On the afternoon fishing trip, they had 7 fish in the boat in their first two hours. Two of those fish were 5-pounds or better. The rest of the fish caught on this trip weighed in the 3-4 pound class range.

Windy conditions on the second trip made it more difficult to fish some of the prime spots we had the opportunity to fish on the first day. One thing I do know for sure is that they will be back for more of this insane action on Lake Toho.

I am looking forward to fishing with them again soon!” – Captain Bill Goudy Jr

“Lake Toho located in Kissimmee, FL is starting to ramp up. This is one of my favorite fisheries to show travelers a great time. I had the pleasure of fishing with Steve and Terry who were traveling from Northern Indiana to Central Florida. While doing so, Lake Toho Bass Fishing on the pontoon boat was a must. Whether you have two anglers or have six anglers, you can enjoy the pontoon boat. Space and comfortability is what draws anglers to it. Bass fishing and crappie fishing are easily accessible on this fishing vessel. This time of year, bass fishing is most certainly the way to go.

Steve and Terry booked two days of fishing on Lake Toho. The fishing conditions were windy at times but overall it was two exceptional days on the water. Live bait was the most successful method to catch largemouth bass on this fishing trip.

These gentlemen caught over 25 bass on their first day and over 35 bass on their second day. You truly can’t beat that action when coming to Florida. On the last day, they caught a fish to break the scales with. It weighed in at 8.3 pounds, which they put into the Florida trophy catch with.

February-Lake-Toho-Fishing “Cold fronts can most certainly slow the fishing down quite a bit. Throughout these winter months, you will periodically have some cooler weather. One thing about being out on the water on a daily basis, I have learned to have the ability to adjust.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Bryan, who was traveling from Texas. He was coming down to explore what the waters of Lake Toho had to offer. Fishing may have been slow due to windy, cloudy, and cool temperatures but we did manage to land numbers of largemouth bass.

Fishing wild-caught live shiners over submerged hydrilla around Kissimmee grass on the main lake produced an exceptional bite. Bryan caught over 23 largemouth bass on this fishing trip weighing up to 5 pounds.

He also caught a 5-foot gar that added some excitement to his fishing trip. Even with the conditions the way there were, Bryan had a fantastic time catching fish all trip long.

She is in the Army and while taking a break wanted to go bass fishing. Lake Toho Bass Fishing was the perfect fit for her and we went out to see how the fish were biting.

Luckily, the bass fishing was on fire and Katrina caught fish all trip long. It was really nice to see someone have so much excitement when reeling in largemouth bass. We most certainly lost count of the number of bass we caught on this trip. The biggest fish weighed in at 5 pounds, which happened to be her biggest fish ever.

Most of the additional fish caught weighed in the 3-4 pound range. The quality of bass is most certainly going up. Katrina was a wonderful person to fish with and is looking forward to spending another day on the water soon!” – Capt John Leech

I had the pleasure of fishing with Ed on a Lake Toho Bass Fishing charter. He was traveling from Pennsylvania looking to cash in on some Florida largemouth bass. Sunny and calm conditions made for a fantastic day on the water.

February Lake Toho Fishing 1Submerged vegetation was the main focus on this fishing trip. Wild-caught live shiners produced the best bite all trip long on the main lake. It surely was a productive day on the water for Ed for more than just largemouth bass. Ed caught largemouth, gar, chain pickerel, and bowfin. It was a blast to watch him reel in all these different species.

Ed also enjoyed catching a big beautiful female largemouth bass weighing in at 6 pounds. You truly can’t beat the action on Lake Toho on some trips. He put 47 bass in the boat on his 8-hour fishing charter and enjoyed every moment.

The repeats that have fished with me in the past are now coming back to explore the waters on this open boat. Luckily, I can take the pontoon boat up to the waters near Orlando as well.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Larry, Gene, and Phil. They were traveling from Wisconsin looking to spend some time on the water. While doing so, setting the hook into a largemouth bass was a must.

Breezy and Cloudy conditions made for an interesting bite. During these conditions, the live bait bite can be slower than normal. Luckily, throughout our 4-hour fishing trip, we found some nice fish.

Larry, Gene, and Phil caught over 10 largemouth bass on their quick fishing trip. Even though the numbers were down, they had a blast spending time with each other. It was their first time on the pontoon boat and they will most certainly be coming back for more action.

I am looking forward to fishing with them again in the near future!” – Capt Steve Niemoeller

Family Lake Toho Bass Fishing

Families travel far and wide to experience what Central Florida has to offer. After exploring the theme parks and on-land activities, most adventure out on the water. One of the best ways to do that is on a family Lake Toho bass fishing charter. You never know what you will catch and see while exploring what Kissimmee, FL has to offer.

Lake Tohopekaliga is located in Kissimmee, FL. Right now, this fishery is one of the most productive to experience. Our local experts, especially Captain Steve Niemoeller can get you around some beautiful bass.

Bass fishing in Central FL is a lot of fun. It is the perfect place to introduce family members to the great outdoors. Largemouth bass are the target species and grow quite large in Kissimmee, FL. Every trip can land you a trophy bass that you will never forget.

In the next several months, our season begins. Our season is the time when largemouth bass begins to spawn. When this occurs, males come off the main lake first. They prep the beds for the females to move in. When the females move in, they begin to feed heavily. This is a good time to cash in on big bass.

After fighting and catching them with conservation in mind, a quick picture with a release is always the best. Let that beautiful big bass go back to where she was.

The best time to catch bass of this caliber is from January through April. If you are looking strictly for big bass, plan your trips around the prime moon phases of each of these months. Largemouth bass may feed at night but the moon tells them when to spawn, along with many other factors.

Currently, the fishing has been fantastic. We have not seen any giant fish begin caught quite yet. Males are roaming around and feeding strong though. It is a good sign of what is to come.

Below, you will get to watch a wonderful family come explore Lake Toho. They wanted to get out and do some family Lake Toho bass fishing while visiting Kissimmee, FL.

Family Bass Fishing on a Pontoon Boat with Captain Steve Niemoeller:

“I had the pleasure of fishing with Leo, his brother Vic, their Mom, and good family friend Charlie. They were traveling from Bloomington, Indiana, which was close to where I grew up. It was neat to have this in common with this family. Leo’s Mom lives in Orlando and they were coming to visit!

Leo was a high school fisherman looking to catch some Florida bass. He had an absolute blast catching numbers of largemouth bass. One of my favorite parts of this trip was watching his face light up when the fish made it to the net.

After losing several bites due to the bass begin picky, Leo gave the fish more time. As a result, he landed even more bass on this trip. It was in the last moments that he caught his biggest bass.

Vic landed some nice bass as well on this fishing trip. He also caught a chain pickerel put up a nice little fight. This young man had a great time helping out and catching fish.

All-in-all, this family caught over 30 Florida largemouth bass on this trip. The biggest bass was caught by Leo weighing in at 3.24 pounds. A nice breeze and sunny skies made for a great day on the water.

Everyone had a fun time while pontoon vessel fishing and I am looking forward to seeing them back on the water soon!” – Captain Steve Niemoeller

Fishing with Captain Brent Nelson

Family Lake Toho Bass Fishing“Meet Brian and his good friend David. I had the pleasure of fishing with these two great friends traveling from Ohio and Washington DC. While coming to Kissimmee, FL on vacation, they wanted to go out bass fishing.

It was a quick 4-hour bass fishing charter on Lake Toho. The trip was split between wild-caught live shiners and artificial baits. The action was strong with both methods.

Brian and David had a lot of fun catching bass all trip long. They caught 27 largemouths in their quick 4-hour trip. The most productive artificial baits were chatter baits, zoom trick worms, and senkos.

The biggest bass caught on this charter weighed in at 6.70 pounds. It was a beautiful fish for this time of year. Windy points on the main lake pushed bait and attracted the fish.

After finding these points and the hydrilla around them, we put some fish in the boat. The bite was fast and furious from this point. Great times and views from the early morning skies made the trip complete.

I am looking forward to fishing with Brian and David again soon!” – Captain Brent Nelson

Meet Ryan and Alex, they were traveling from Topeka, Kansas looking to vacation in Central Florida. While doing so, Florida bass fishing was on their mind. As a result, they set up a Lake Toho bass fishing charter.

Post Thanksgiving Fishing Report 2Captain Brent Nelson had the pleasure of taking them out on the water. They had a fantastic fishing trip. Alex wanted to throw artificial baits, while Ryan, dad, was content fishing with shiners. Either way, everyone on board caught numbers of bass on this fishing trip.

Alex enjoyed catching largemouth on a variety of artificial baits. The most productive were swim jigs, Carolina rigs, and Senko. A focus on submerged sparse hydrilla was the best bet at putting fish in the boat. Even Ryan had some fun catching fish on a Senko.

After spending some time with artificial baits, they both switched over to live bait. They got into a school of fish when the sun started to go down. It was non-stop and the action was amazing. Every cast yielded a quality largemouth bass.

Unfortunately, they did have several nice bites in the mix but the fish did not eat the bait correctly. As a result, the fish never made it to the boat. All-in-all, they caught several largemouth bass in the 3.5-4 pound range with over 35 fish total.

Ryan and Alex had a fantastic time on the water. Captain Brent is looking forward to seeing them back again in the near future!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Mike and Matt explored what Lake Toho Bass Fishing had to offer. They were traveling from Canada looking to get out on the water and catch some Florida bass. Captain Brent had the pleasure of fishing with these guys.

Post Thanksgiving Fishing Report 3Lake Toho has been producing some excellent fishing this time of year. Artificial baits and live baits were both very effective. Mike and Matt caught bass all trip long over submerged grass beds.

As always, when looking for larger Florida bass, wild-caught live shiners are the best method to go. Mike and Matt both caught their personal best largemouth bass on this fishing trip with fish over 4 pounds.

No big giants were caught on these trips but you can tell the fishing is about to get good. Mike and Matt had a great time catching over 15 largemouths on their trip.

Captain Brent is looking forward to getting back out on the water soon!
