CAPT Shawn BIO
Capt Shawn Csicsek – Professional Bass Fishing Guide Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Shawn Csicsek’s love for bass fishing began in 1978, when his father first introduced him to the sport that would shape his life. What started as childhood outings quickly turned into a lifelong passion, fueled by a subscription to Bassmaster Magazine at the age of 11 and a deep hunger for fishing knowledge. Shawn entered his first bass tournament in 1989 on Lake Wallenpaupack with his father, launching a decades-long journey of competitive angling and skill development.
As a dedicated member of the Proline B.A.S.S. club that began in 1990 and fishing various money tournaments throughout different states, Shawn has fished diverse waters across the Northeast, Eastern, and Southwest regions of America — from the Finger Lakes, St. Lawrence River, Lake Champlain, Lake Fontana, Lake Okeechobee, St Johns River, the Great Lakes, various lakes in Canada, and even reservoirs in California. He’s competed in FLW series tournaments and twice earned a spot on the prestigious B.A.S.S. State Team Series, fishing alongside the top 200 anglers in Pennsylvania.
Now a licensed USCG OUPV Captain (with a Tow Assist endorsement) and working toward his 25/50/100 Ton Master Captain’s License, Shawn offers guided bass fishing trips on Pennsylvania’s beautiful lakes and reservoirs. His Ranger Comanche bass boat is outfitted with the latest in trolling motor and fish-finding electronics, ensuring clients get the best possible experience on the water. Shawn welcomes anglers of all skill levels, from first-time casters to seasoned tournament veterans.
His guided trips focus on much more than just catching fish — clients interested can learn casting techniques, lure selection, seasonal bass behavior, and tactical approaches to various water systems. His teaching style is patient, informative, and rooted in a deep respect for the sport. Above all, Shawn emphasizes the importance of conservation and ethical angling practices, believing that the future of fishing depends on how we treat the resource today. Whether you’re looking to improve your skills, land your personal best, or simply enjoy a day on the water, Captain Shawn is ready to share his lifetime of bass fishing experience with you.
