Fishing with Captain John Leech

March Toho Fishing with Capt John LeechLake Toho is my home lake and waters. It is a lake I have been fishing for many years now. This trip I am about to share with you is one of the books. The bass were biting and is an indication of how the fishing is going to be in the next several weeks.

I had the pleasure of fishing with John and his daughter Nikki. They were traveling from New York looking to enjoy Florida outdoors. While doing so, Lake Toho fishing was on the menu and it sure showed up for them. It was one of the best days of fishing I’ve had in a long time.

Some days you can go out on the water and crush the bass on artificial baits when they are schooling. This time of year though calls for live bait. John and Nicki landed over 30 largemouth bass on their fishing trip with some giant fish in the mix.

Nicki caught most of the fish. The biggest fish of the trip weighed in at 7 pounds with a 6.5, 6, 5 and several other quality bass in the 3-4 pound range caught. It was a blast to watch this young girl and her father have such a great time reeling in fish.

I am looking forward to fishing with Nicki and John again on their next trip from New York!” – Capt John Leech

Fishing with Captain Steve Niemoeller

“I had the pleasure of fishing with Bob, and his two young boys Bobby and Xavier. They were 12 and 9 years of age. I think I can speak for all my fellow captains, it is trips like these that get us the most excited. It brings us back to when we were younger and got to enjoy a day on the water with our father.  March Toho Fishing Forecast - Capt Steve Niemoeller

Bob and his boys were traveling from New Hampshire. Instead of going to all the theme parks this year, they wanted to go out bass fishing on Lake Toho. Even with windy conditions, we made it happen for them.

Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective method to put bass in the boat on this fishing trip. One of the best parts was watching Bobby and Xavier catch bass all trip long. They love to bass fish back home and just had to see what Florida Bass Fishing could produce for them.

The biggest fish caught on this trip weighed in at 3.5 pounds. They also caught several bass in the 2-3 pound range with no trophies caught. It was a fun day by all!

I am looking forward to our next trip. For all your freshwater fishing needs, contact us here at Bass Online and we will be glad to help!” – Captain Steve Niemoeller

Fishing with Captain Brent Nelson

Captain Brent got the chance to fish a double on this day that really captured how the fishing will be in the upcoming weeks.

“I had the pleasure of fishing with Jeff, Noah, and Darrel Black on a Lake Toho Bass Fishing Charter out of Kissimmee. They were traveling from Canada looking to cash in on some bass fishing here in Florida. This was a morning fishing trip with wild-caught live shiners, making for a fantastic day on the water.

The most productive structure to fish almost all-year-round in Central Florida is submerged Hydrilla. When you can find quality grass around Hydrilla, it is an even better combo. Slight winds made for a strong bite in the morning and once it stopped, the bite slowed down.

Jeff, Noah, and Darrel caught over 35 largemouth bass on their fishing trip. The biggest fish weighed in at 5.5 pounds with several truly quality fish in the mix! They had a great time fishing on Lake Toho and are looking forward to getting back down here soon!

I am looking forward to our next bass fishing adventure.”

March Forecast - Capt Brent NelsonWithin hours of the last trip, Captain Brent was back out on Lake Toho with a new set of clients looking to catch some bass!

“Right after fishing with my last clients, I was back out on the water. This time, I had the pleasure of fishing with India, Andrew, and Mom. They were traveling from Minnesota looking to explore what Kissimmee, FL had to offer them.

They were new to fishing with live bait, especially wild-caught live shiners. Once I dialed them in on how to catch bass with shiners, they had a blast. The bite was slower than the morning time but they still managed to land over 25 largemouth bass.

Andrew came in strong with the biggest bass weighing close to 5 pounds. The shiners were fished around backwater areas near Kissimmee grass and spatterdock lily pads. These areas were prime for catching numbers of bass all trip long.

India, Andrew, and Mom all had a really great time fishing on Lake Toho. I am looking forward to fishing with them again soon!” – Captain Brent Nelson

Fishing with Captain Devin Dickerson

Every now and then, Lake Toho really shows it’s true colors. This trip to come is one of the main reasons you come explore what Florida Bass Fishing has to offer, cause you just never know what you will catch. Also, this report is a highlight of our March Toho Fishing forecast!

“I had the pleasure of fishing with the Lindsey Family. They were traveling from Upstate New York looking to soak in some Florida sunshine. While doing so, bass fishing was one of the outdoor experiences they had to try. On their first day of fishing, they had such a great time on the water that they immediately booked another trip.  March Toho Fishing Forecast 3

It was on the second trip that the true magic happened. As we always recommend, live bait is the most successful method to catch largemouth bass here in Florida. The Lindsey Family went out on Lake Toho on the pontoon fishing vessel looking to see what they could catch the second time.

Lake Toho woke up for them and showed them a fantastic trip they will never forget. Everyone on board had their share of catching some quality largemouth bass but two of the family members cashed in on GIANT TROPHY bass. These fish weighed in at 9.5 pounds and 8.8 pounds. It is not every day that you catch two big bass like this in one trip.

Sunny and beautiful weather only made this trip complete. It was one that this family will never forget and I am forever grateful to have the opportunity to show them such a great time on the water. I am most certainly looking forward to fishing with them again in the near future!” – Capt Devin Dickerson

Fishing with Captain Bill Goudy Jr on Lake Toho

“Lake Toho has been on fire lately and all of our team captains have been catching some big bass. It is a testament of what is to come in the near future!

I had the pleasure of fishing two trips with Gary and his friend Greg. While traveling from Washington D.C, Gary did not expect to experience what he did. Greg is a Florida local that loves to get outdoors. When his friend Gary was visiting, they wanted to explore Lake Toho in Kissimmee, FL.

I had the honor of getting a chance to fish with them for two days. One was a morning trip and the other was an afternoon fishing trip. Both trips were absolutely fantastic and productive for catching largemouth bass.

March Toho Fishing Trophy Bass On their first fishing trip out on the water, Gary caught the biggest bass of his life. It weighed in at 9 pounds even. Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective method to catch bass on both fishing trips. Submerged grass on the main lake was the most productive for landing some quality bass.

On the afternoon fishing trip, they had 7 fish in the boat in their first two hours. Two of those fish were 5-pounds or better. The rest of the fish caught on this trip weighed in the 3-4 pound class range.

Windy conditions on the second trip made it more difficult to fish some of the prime spots we had the opportunity to fish on the first day. One thing I do know for sure is that they will be back for more of this insane action on Lake Toho.

I am looking forward to fishing with them again soon!” – Captain Bill Goudy Jr
