Successful fishing days

Hi everybody this is Captain Dave Lauer calling in for the Monday 12th, 2015 fishing report.

We went out of Slims Fish Camp – Belle Glade, the southeast shore of the lake. Yesterday and today we had incredible days at Lake Okeechobee with the Provost family. Yesterday we went through 7-dozen shiners and today we started off with artificial… we caught 15 fish, and then we went through 5-dozen and caught a lot more. Very successful fishing days, they both caught the biggest bass of their lives…both over 5 pounds. Lake Okeechobee continues to impress me and my customers, the weather is great and fish are biting non-stop!

This was Captain Dave Lauer… I am out! See you guys in a week.

Leave the Rodman Reservoir alone!

Leave the Rodman Reservoir alone

A great post in the Jacksonville Times worth reposting…with our two sence added.

RODMAN RESERVOIR “Where would it end?”

The recent conversation about deepening the St. Johns River and draining the Rodman Reservoir has certainly caught the attention of both the ecological extremist and those who simply have good reasoning.

And as for the St. Johns Riverkeeper’s suggestion that the Rodman Reservoir be drained to allow the Ocklawaha River to be put back in its original form, I must say I’ll agree — but only if the rest of these damnable man-made obstructions are corrected:

■ Let’s remove the levees along the Mississippi River and put it back in its original form.

■ Let’s remove Hoover Dam so the Colorado River can be allowed to flow as God intended it to travel.

■ Let’s rebuild the Intracoastal Waterway from Maine to the Rio Grande River so that it will be in its original natural condition.

■ Let’s remove all the locks and dams along the rivers like the Ohio, Tennessee and many others that connect with the Mississippi — and get all those rivers back to how they are supposed to be.

■ Let’s remove the Lake Okeechobee levee and fill all the Everglades canals, remove the hundreds of waterway structures and of course remove I-75 from Fort Lauderdale to Naples.

Simply put, leave the beautiful Rodman Reservoir alone. It’s one of the best wildlife and fishing resource the State of Florida has.

We caught fish all day long

Hello, this is Captain Robert E. Miley just left Lake Ida on a peacock bass fishing trip.

We caught fish all day long in the Peacock Bass Fishing Shirtir?t=bassonline0d 20&language=en US&l=li2&o=1&a=B07RL8R2SPI had the opportunity to take Ken Tyson, his brother-in-law Dan and Paul peacock bass fishing on Lake Ida. They flew in from Kentucky and we had an awesome day today. The weather was super nice and we caught approximately 25 peacock bass, nothing over 4 pounds. We also caught one big clownfish and several large-mouth bass.

Awesome trip, they are going to be down here for a couple of days and going salt-water fishing tomorrow. They had an awesome trip with me, the water temperature was 83 degrees, and the air temperature 88. It was nice and comfortable. We found some areas where the peacock bass was hiding and we caught them really well.

They had an outstanding trip, we caught them straight on live bait. We used 10 dozen shiners and we caught fish all day long.

Tight lines, goodbye! Thank you for choosing Bass Online.
