It was a quick 4-hour fishing trip in the afternoon on the Butler Chain of Lakes. These guys put the bass in the boat all trip long.

Fishing conditions made the bite slightly slower but eventually, the bite turned on. Windy days can push bait in different locations. Most of the fish were caught on wild-caught live shiners but several also came on artificial baits including the zoom super fluke. Jeremy, Leo, and Mike caught several-quality largemouth bass weighing up to 4 pounds. The bass was held in deep water grass beds on the main lake.

First Time Fishing Florida 1
Captain John Leech had the pleasure of fishing with Kyle and his son and nephew. They wanted to get out and explore Lake Toho Bass Fishing. It was a great day to do so and conditions were just right for an awesome day on the water. One of their requests besides catching largemouth bass was to catch a Florida gar. You don’t normally get that given the reputation of bass fishing here in Florida.

Live bait fishing is the most effective technique in order to catch largemouth bass or any species of fish here in Florida. In order to have success, you have to get dialed in and have patience. After missing several fish, you eventually determine the pattern. Kyle and his family lost several fish to end up landing a great number of them.

They caught 20 Florida largemouth bass along with 5 gars and a chain pickerel. That is a great assortment of Central Florida species. The biggest largemouth weighed 5 pounds. You can’t beat the action here on Lake Toho. All year long you can have some great days on the water.

Captain John is looking forward to fishing with Kyle and his family again soon. They will be back for more incredible fishing action!
First Time Fishing Florida 2
Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Steve Niemoeller adventure out on Lake Toho. Miguel and Nelson were traveling from New York looking to get in on the action here in Central Florida. Kissimmee was the perfect destination to do so. Nelson is not much of a fisherman but Miguel has spent some time fishing in New York. Offshore fishing was most of their experience so fishing in freshwater was something new.

It was a quick fishing adventure on Lake Toho. Wild-caught shiners were the most effective method of putting 12 largemouth bass in the boat. They were pretty excited to see the largemouth blow up on the live bait like a topwater plug. This was their first time visiting Florida as well as bass fishing. Now, we have them addicted to both fishings here in Florida and visiting.

Captain Steve is looking forward to fishing with Miguel and Nelson again in the future!
