Long Time Returning Customers the Morgan Family

Hi, this is Captain Mark Rogers, and we were on Lake Okeechobee today with a long-time returning customer, the Morgan family. We had a good time, the breeze (wind) was up by 10 to 15 mph, which I think kept the temperature pleasant, calm, and comfortable, and it kept the fish biting all day.

We caught fish pretty much all day from the beginning to the end. I moved around a couple of times with the bite stayed pretty consistent. No real monsters lot of 1-1/2 to 3-1/2 pound fish made for a fun day. At one point, the bite slowed down, and Sierra, the daughter, pulled out or lucky bobber; it was pretty funny because as soon as she pulled it out, her line went down, and she caught two or three fish.

After that, everyone else on the boat wanted to touch the lucky bobber, and it was passed around. The craziest thing was that everybody touched it and started to catch fish. Then we might slow down for a bit, pass the bobber around again, and everybody would start catching fish again.

It all added up to a lot of fun and added a bit of excitement. So that’s it for today, so keep looking for those big ones.

About Golden Gate Canal

Don’t confuse the area’s beautiful saltwater beach with a shortage of natural lakes for freshwater fishing. Southwest Florida has hundreds of miles of drainage canals that contain tons of fish called the Golden Gate Canal System. This region has three major canal systems: Lehigh Acres, Cape Coral, and Golden Gate.

It is centrally between Naples-Marco Island’s pristine beaches and the Everglades National Park, Big Cypress Preserve, and the Collier-Seminole State Park.

“The canals in southern Golden Gate area will provide freshwater fisherman great alternative opportunity,” said President Brian McMahon, Collier County Standing Watch.

This project was completed in the summer of 2009, so if you want to explore southwest Florida fishing. The Golden Gate canal system is where you can stay close, save time and money.

Naples Florida Peacock Bass Fishing

Hi, this is Captain Mark Rogers today We were fishing at the Golden gate canal.

It was a nice day There was a slight breeze, which helped push us down the canal nicely and slowly, it was overcast all day which kept the temperature down and made fishing conditions perfect for us.

We started off with some shiners, and I was drifting shiners behind the boat as he fished off the front throwing a jerk bait.

He wanted to catch some Naples Florida Peacock Bass Fishing, so that’s what we had set our sights on.

Within 5 minutes of throwing the shiner out, we caught a large mouth, and then the next one out caught the first peacock bass which was about a 2 1/2 pounder.

We continued down, and he worked the jerk bait off the front and caught a few largemouths we got about 5 more peacocks and then five more largemouth bass on the shiners.

He hooked a good peacock on the jerk bait and it turned out to be a good day and all and we caught about ten or eleven fish with some nice-sized peacock bass and a decent-sized snook.

Anyways the Golden gate canals are really turning out pretty well with the peacocks. I seem to be getting a lot bigger and a lot more active. So keep searching for those big ones.

Hi this is Capt Mark Rogers fishing out on Lake Okeechobee.

I had an 8 hour day some cool weather had moved in and it was a little overcast with a small breeze.

Starting off with shiner fishing for about 4 hours and it was a slow bite but it made for a good time.

We caught them steady almost every 10 mins or so we had 3 that were between 4 and a half and 5 pounds and caught around 30 fish.

Switching over to artificial in the afternoon and that was a little slower we probably missed the bite in the morning but we caught a few and then went back to shiners and caught a few more.

All in all, it turned out to be a good day for all your freshwater fishing adventures go to BassOnline thank you.
