Captain Mark Rose had the pleasure of fishing with Morgan and his friend Garrett. They were traveling from West Virginia looking to land some quality smallmouth bass. These gentlemen planned these fishing trips back in February and have been looking forward to it since. It is always nice when things come together and fulfill expectations. Another amazing feeling is when the fishing charter exceeds their expectations.

May Lake Erie Fishing Charter 1The smallmouth bass were on the move and the big bass was out to play. Morgan and Garrett caught over 50 bass on their two fishing trips. The biggest bass weighed up to 5 pounds. Water temperatures ranged from 47-51 degrees making for some chilly conditions. As you can see though, that did not stop the smallmouth bass from biting.

The most productive baits on this fishing trip were drop shots, jerk baits, and tubes. Lake Erie is a great place to catch bass on artificial lures. As the water temperatures warm, the big females will begin to bed. Once this happens, trophy bass will start to be caught! Morgan and Garrett look forward to catching more smallmouth bass in the near future!
