Captain Mark had the pleasure of fishing with Tommy and his Uncle Chris. They were traveling from the Pittsburgh area in order to crush some quality smallmouth bass. Escape the city life and travel a short distance north to get on some of these fish. Summer is a great time to do that!

Fishing conditions have been really great on Lake Erie. Water temperatures during this fishing trip hovered between 72-74 degrees out of the Port of Erie. You can catch numbers of smallmouth bass on a variety of different baits. Tommy and Uncle Chris caught 28 smallmouth bass in their short fishing trip. They landed them on grubs, drop shots, ned rigs, spinner baits and top water baits. Summer is the perfect time to catch them up on artificial baits.

The next day, Captain Mark went out again to crush another Northern summer fishing charter. Robert and Craig had a fantastic morning catching smallmouth bass. They were traveling from Mobile, Alabama looking to see what Lake Erie had to offer them. Captain Mark put them on fish right away!

This was Robert and Craig’s first time being up to Erie, Pennsylvania. It was also their first time catching smallmouth bass. Captain Mark put them on more than 40 bass with two beautiful fish. They caught two personal best bass weighing in at 4.0 and 3.88 pounds.

Robert is a professional PGA golfer and wanted to catch himself a Big Lake Erie Bass and we accomplished that for him. They caught them up on a variety of different baits from grubs to top waters. Conditions were consistent with the previous day making for an excellent fishing trip.

Captain Mark is looking forward to the next chance to adventure out with Robert and Craig when visiting Lake Erie next time!
