Capt Mark Rose had the pleasure of fishing with Jamie who was traveling from Alabama. Jamie wanted to cash in on some of the bass fishing action in Erie, PA. Captain Mark fishes out of Presque Isle Bay, which is a great access point to some of the best fishing on the Lake. Jamie came out fishing with us before but this time was way different.
The weather conditions are much cooler now that we are heading toward the last months of the year. Jamie came fishing in the summer last time and the bite was much different this time. Smallmouth bass love the cooler water temperatures. As the water cools they move into shallow water. Jamie had his best fishing trip ever this time with Captain Mark.
Jamie had an absolute blast fishing for smallmouth. He put over 70 fish in the boat fishing for two days on Lake Erie. You can’t beat the action on Lake Erie this time of year. Jamie caught 3 bass over 5 pounds along with his personal best bass weighing in at 5.5 pounds. The temperatures may be colder but the fish are biting strong with water temperatures in the mid 50s. Most of the action came between 8-15 feet.
Captain Mark is looking forward to fishing with Jamie again in the future!
Just shortly after this amazing fishing trip, Ron and Mike came out to fish with Captain Mark. They were traveling from Maryland looking to enjoy their first Lake Erie fishing trip ever. It was also their first time experiencing our service and we showed them what it is all about. When you are traveling to Lake Erie, plan out two days of incredible smallmouth bass fishing.
