Bill and Mary were traveling from Missouri to experience Lake Okeechobee. The most productive area for fishing has been the west side of the lake out of Harney Pond. It was a special trip for Mary as she never caught a fish before. They went out on a quick 4-hour fishing trip out of Big water bait and tackle.

Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective bait to catch largemouth bass this trip. Storms were rolling in which made the bite more interesting. They had to put on some rain gear and hunker down to wait for it to pass. Sometimes when you are patient and wait it out, you can catch some of your biggest fish on the back side of a rain storm.

Okeechobee on Fire!

Bill and Mary had a great time fishing on Lake Okeechobee. They caught numbers of largemouth bass weighing up to 4 pounds. Mary caught the most fish, the first fish, and the biggest fish she had ever caught on this fishing charter. You can’t beat this summer action and Captain Brian is looking forward to fishing with them again in the future.

Gary and Jan were traveling to Lake Okeechobee to fish for largemouth bass and bluegill. They wanted to fish for crappie but the best time to catch crappie has passed. Instead, bluegill and bass were running steady and you could catch them up great. Experience a half day of bass fishing and a half day of bluegill fishing and you will be hooked for life.

Still Working on the Weather

The weather conditions were beautiful and perfect for a fishing trip. They had a blast catching bass with some quality fish in the boat along with great numbers. After catching up with the bass, they switched over to bluegill fishing finding a variety of Okeechobee species. Gary and Jan found some bluegill, Mayan cichlids, tilapia, and cooperhead bream.
They loved getting out on the water and enjoying the outdoors. One of their requests was also to go nature watching especially for Alligators and birds. Lake Okeechobee can truly provide you with a great time on the water. Captain Brian is looking forward to fishing with Gary and Jan again in the future!
