Captain Mark had the pleasure of spending 4 days on Lake Okeechobee with Steve and his father. They were traveling from Ohio looking to spend some time in the outdoors. Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing with Captain Mark Rose was a great option for them. The weather was very sporadic throughout their adventure. One day there was a chill in the air, the next windy, then rain, then the sun shining. One thing that stayed consistent was the largemouth bass feeding.

Steve and his father caught over 100 largemouth bass in the 4 days on the water. Topwater, flukes, and senkos were very effective in catching bass. The key structures were hydrilla and eelgrass. Once you found that, you were able to find the fish. You could not beat the action on these fishing trips. Steve and his father will be back next year for more action on Lake Okeechobee. Captain Mark is looking forward to their next adventure!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Mark Rose was back out on the water in Belle Glade out of Slims Fish Camp. He had the pleasure of fishing with John and Nick traveling from the Pittsburgh Area. John is blind and goes off what you tell him and feel. Lake Okeechobee bass fishing was a bucket list item and we made it happen for him. It was awesome catching a bunch of largemouth bass and was excited with everyone.

John and Nick caught over 25 largemouth bass weighing up to 3 pounds. You can’t beat the action while fishing on Lake Okeechobee. The bass is biting and the time is NOW! Captain Mark Rose is looking forward to fishing with John and Nick again in the near future. 

It was not long after this fishing trip that Captain Mark was back on the water out of Belle Glade, FL. He had the pleasure of fishing with Russ and Gary on two days of fishing on Lake Okeechobee. Yet again, the artificial bite was strong with flukes and topwater baits. Russ and Gary caught over 30 Florida largemouth bass weighing up to 4 pounds. The main focus was on scattered grass with hydrilla and eel. The water was clean and beautiful making for a great day on the water.

Captain Mark is looking forward to fishing with Russ and Gary again on their next fishing adventure!

The final trip with Captain Mark Rose was on a morning trip out of Clewiston, FL. He had the pleasure of fishing with a Father-Son Duo looking to land some quality largemouth bass. The west wall of Clewiston made up for a productive day of fishing. This family caught 25 largemouth bass with most in the 2-3 pound range. The son, Jesse, caught a nice one right around 4 pounds. Fishing conditions were beautiful and they had a great time catching bass on Lake Okeechobee.
