Captain Robert Miley had the pleasure of fishing with Scott and his son Calvin. They were traveling to Florida on vacation looking for an outdoor adventure. While doing so, they wanted to catch some peacock bass in Miami. Conditions were not the best but Captain Robert made it happen for them in their quick 4-hour fishing trip on Miami’s International Airport Lakes.
For most of the trip, the sun was behind the clouds. After the sun came out and started shining, the peacock bass began to bite. Captain Miley had to check multiple spots in order to find the honey hole holding bass. It was in a 100-yard stretch where the sun was beating down on the bank. Scott and Calvin caught 10 quality peacock bass weighing up to 3 pounds.
They had a great time exploring Miami. Captain Miley is looking forward to showing them around again on their next fishing trip.
Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Joe Gruny explored the Miami Falls Canal System. He had the pleasure of fishing with Hunter traveling from Wisconsin. Hunter wanted to catch peacock bass while visiting Miami and Captain Joe made it happen. The Falls Canal System is a beautiful place to explore especially for exotic species.
Water conditions on this fishing trip were slightly cooler than normal. When conditions get like this, the peacock bass will bite slower and lighter. Even though conditions were not optimal, Captain Joe got Hunter on his dream fish. Hunter caught several peacock bass weighing between 2-3 pounds. The action is going to get better as the weather stabilizes and gets warmer.
Captain Joe is looking forward to fishing with Hunter again in the near future!
