Fishing with Allen and Max

Allen and his son Max were traveling from Syracuse, New York. While doing so, they wanted to spend a day on the water. After doing some research, Miami freshwater fishing for peacock bass was looking great.

They decided on a quick 4-hour fishing charter in the morning. It just happened that a mild cold front came through during this trip. It dropped the air temperatures to 65 degrees to eventually rise to 89 degrees. Water temperatures remained stable on this trip at 79-80 degrees.

It was nice and calm for most of the day. Shortly into the trip, the winds began to pick up. This made the action turn on, making this trip a productive day on the water.

Captain Robert Miley had the pleasure of fishing with Allen and Max. This father-son duo had a fantastic time on the water in Miami, FL. They caught over 10 peacock bass on this fishing trip. The biggest fish caught was in the 5-6 pound range.

As a result, it was a trip they would never forget. Captain Miley is looking forward to fishing with Allen and Max again in the future!

Fishing with Tammy, Blaine, and his father-in-law John:

As the cooler months roll on, the mornings are getting colder. Tammy, Blaine, and his father-in-law John were traveling from Stuart, FL looking to cash in on some peacock bass fishing. It was going to be a trip they will never forget!

Captain Miley had the pleasure of fishing with this family. The bite was slower during this 6-hour fishing trip due to the cooler weather. When it gets cold like this, fish tend to gravitate toward the structure.

They first started back in the community areas of Miami Airport Lakes. Recent rainstorms raised the water level pushing fish out of the community hole. As well, the wind was blowing hard so they made a move.

Captain Miley found some structure that held heat. Just like that, they were into some trophy peacock bass. Blaine hooked into a giant bass and carefully fought him out from the structure. When he landed his eyes on this beautiful fish, he was blown away.

Blaine caught a Florida trophy peacock bass weighing in at a whopping 7.5 pounds. It was a super trophy with explosive power and a great fight. Blaine also caught a peacock bass weighing in the 5-pound range.

Most of the other peacock bass caught on this fishing trip weighed in at around 3-3.5 pounds. All fish were caught on live bait.

Tammy, Blaine, and John had a fantastic time exploring what Miami had to offer. Captain Miley is looking forward to getting back out on the water with them again soon!
