An 80th Birthday Surprise from Clewiston
Shortly afterward, Capt. Brian fished from Clewiston with Jim and his sons Chris and Kenny.
Jim was celebrating his 80th birthday, and the Lake Okeechobee trip was a surprise gift. Most of the bass were in the 2- to 3-pound range, with the best fish close to 5 pounds.
The lasting value of this trip is the family experience itself. The catch mattered, but the larger story was three generations sharing time together on the water.
Belle Glade Family Trip and an 8-Pound Bass
On another outing from the Belle Glade side, repeat client Don fished with his son Hayden and father-in-law Gary.
The early bite produced smaller bass, but after several moves Hayden hooked an 8-pound female largemouth. That fish became the standout catch of the historical trip.
The lesson is not that a guide can guarantee a trophy fish after enough moves. It is that changing location when the clues disappear can sometimes improve the odds of finding better-quality bass.
