First Time Shiner Fishing

First-Time Shiner Fishing

North Florida is home to bodies of freshwater that hold Monster largemouth bass. It was going to be my client’s First Time Shiner Fishing for Florida Bass.

Today, I had the pleasure to fish with John and his daughter Caitlyn. They are traveling from Murphysboro, Tennesee for Bass fishing here in Florida.

We fished out of Lake Monroe in Sanford, Florida. It was a blast and the bass was biting early. We had up to 20 bass in the boat before 10 am. As the day went on the bass still began to bite.

The biggest bass weighed 6 pounds and we were catching cookie cutters until the end. This was their first time catching largemouth bass on shiners. Free-floating and the use of corks are effective methods for catching big bass around grass structures.

It surely was a great day out on the water. I am looking forward to their return back to Florida. The conditions are beautiful and support great trips out.
