October Palm Beach Fishing 2Brothers Rob and Joe were traveling to South Florida looking to cash in on the action. Peacock bass is one species that has been on their bucket list and it was time to check it off. Rob was traveling from Port St Joe and Joe were traveling from Nantucket on their annual get-together. Captain Kirk Osborne has the pleasure of fishing with them on this fishing trip!

Fishing conditions were perfect for a productive day on the water. It was sunny and calm, making the peacock bass get fired up. Some days just pair up just perfectly for a great day of fishing and this trip was one of them.

After just a few minutes at their first spot, Joe hooked into his first peacock bass. He was throwing a Rapala topwater bait. It took him almost 5 minutes to land this fish, which tipped the scale at over 5 pounds. Can’t beat catching a trophy peacock bass on your first ever trip for them.

After that fish, they made a move and the catching did not stop. Joe caught 4 more peacock bass before Rob was able to catch his first one. As the day was coming to an end, they made one more move resulting in several more peacock bass for both of them.

All in all, they caught over 15 peacock bass and numbers of Mayan cichlids. The action was red hot. Joe said this was by far the best-guided trip they had ever been on. Nothing makes a guide happier than those words out of a satisfied customer.

Captain Kirk is looking forward to their next fishing adventure soon!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Paul and Sheron were traveling from Kentucky and had the trip of their life. It was a quick 4-hour fishing trip with non-stop action from the first cast to the last. Live bait was the most effective method to catch peacock bass, largemouth bass, and clown knife fish. Captain Robert Miley had the pleasure of showing them around this beautiful fishery!

Paul and Sheron both have never caught so many fish in such a short period of time. Not only did they catch over 30 fish, but they also caught some giant fish as well. The largest peacock bass weighed in between 5-6 pounds. They also caught numbers of fish in the 2-3 pound range.

Captain Miley was super happy to be able to show them such a great time. It was such a great time, Paul and Sheron both plan to save the date for next year and come back down. Water temperatures and air temperatures paired up for an awesome day of fishing sitting in the mid-80s. October Palm Beach Fishing 1
