Long-time client, friend, and business partner Bill Blagg came to explore what Florida bass fishing had to offer this month. His first adventure took him to Lake Okeechobee to put Mark Shepard’s Wow Factor 2.0 crankbaits to work. Captain Mark Shepard had the pleasure of showing him around and putting him on some fish out of Clewiston, FL.

Lake Okeechobee is one of Bill’s favorite places to explore when he is on tour. Bill Blagg is a magician that travels around the United States putting on shows for the masses. He is extremely talented on stage and on the water. Bill enjoys taking a couple of days off and putting some Florida largemouth bass in the boat.

Fishing conditions were overcast on his fishing trip, but that didn’t stop the bass from biting. Shallow water cover including submerged grass and cattails were heavily targeted. The best method to catch bass on this trip was the Wow Factor “Mullet” 2.0 Crankbait. If you haven’t picked one up, make sure to! You will put more bass in the boat, guaranteed.

The bass are beginning to migrate into shallow water. Bill and Captain Mark were catching numbers of males prepping and finding the best areas to start the spawning process. As Florida and Lake Okeechobee wait for cold fronts, you can have a great time catching numbers of fish.

The next stop for Bill was the Florida Everglades. Captain Mark and Bill himself wanted to see how the Everglades bass paired up with the Wow Factor Crankbait. One of the best parts about fishing in the Everglades is that you can catch numbers of different species including peacock bass, largemouth bass, cichlids, oscars, and more.

The Florida Everglades showed up for Bill putting all the species listed above in the boat. All the species were caught on artificial lures including the crankbait and soft-plastics. it was a great time on the water and Bill enjoyed every moment. The weather was perfect and will continue to produce great fishing conditions.
