Check out this Miami Peacock Bass Fishing Update:

Julie and Joel were traveling to Miami from Colorado on vacation. While doing so, they wanted to explore what peacock bass fishing could offer them. They also brought along their son Logan for the adventure. Joel works for the Cabela’s out in Colorado making outdoors an integral part of their lives. Captain Robert Miley has the pleasure of getting them out on the water!

Julie, Joel, and Logan enjoyed their 6-hour fishing trip on the Miami Airport Lakes. They wanted to throw artificial and live baits. The most productive artificial lures were a jerk bait and rooster tails. Unfortunately, the big peacock bass did not come out to play on this fishing trip. They caught several peacock bass along with freshwater Snook, Jack Crevalle, and Mayan Cichlids.

Everyone on board had an awesome time and thought this trip was one of their best. Water temperatures were in the 80s with air temperatures still in the mid-90s. Overcast skies kept the bite light. The main lake was the best area to catch peacock bass on this fishing trip. One of the best parts about this fishing adventure is that they gained some knowledge to take home to Colorado about general fishing tactics.

Julie, Joel, and Logan will be back for more action in Miami and Captain Miley is looking forward to their next adventure soon!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Richard, his brother Kurt, and brother’s wife Virginia were looking to explore Miami, FL. They were traveling from Leesburg, FL to beautiful Miami for some outdoor action. Miami’s Airport Lakes produced a much different fishing trip. When it comes to peacock bass fishing, live bait is the best method to catch fish. This group can attest it for themselves as they got to experience non-stop action their whole fishing trip.

Captain Miley took them into the housing and community areas that always hold some great fish. The water temperature was 81 degrees and the air temperatures sat at 95 degrees. Everyone enjoyed the boat ride to the fishing spot as they got to enjoy the urban views. After getting to the spot, it was non-stop for 6-hours straight.

Live bait was a great choice for this fishing trip. As well, jerk bait’s and topwater baits were also a great option. Several peacock bass came on a chartreuse strike king jerk bait. They may not have caught giant peacock bass but with over 20 in the boat, everyone had a blast. It was a fun day and that’s everything we can ask for.

Each fishing trip proposes different conditions. The peacock bass shut off at 11 AM and started to push into deeper water. When you explore the waters with Captain Miley, he will adjust and make sure to get you around the fish wherever they transition too.

Richard, Kurt, and Virginia had a fantastic time fishing in Miami. Captain Miley is looking forward to getting them back out on the water soon! FL Peacock Bass Trips 2
