Family Fun Everglades Fishing
South Florida is a gorgeous place to travel, whether with the family or on a solo trip. After soaking up the salt air near the coast, be sure to discover something new and unique. One of the best things to explore here in South Florida is Everglades bass fishing. A family fun Everglades fishing trip can keep things fresh and exciting all trip long.
The Florida Everglades is characterized by lushes fields and canals of grass. In these structures, you can find an endless amount of freshwater species. The most popular is the Florida largemouth bass. You can also catch peacock bass, cichlids, Oscars, and so much more!
When it comes to December fishing for bass in the Everglades, several methods are incredibly productive. Artificial baits for largemouth bass including soft plastic senkos, flukes, topwater frogs, and topwater spooks.
As well, live bait is very effective for peacock bass when fishing the Everglades. The most productive spot for fishing for peacock bass is along Alligator Alley. Remoteness and less fishing pressure have allowed them to thrive in this beautiful location.
If you are looking to have the ultimate success while fishing the Everglades, a local expert is essential. The ability to step aboard a fully-equipped fishing vessel makes your adventure all that much better. All you have to do is sit back and relax soaking up the sun in the great outdoors.

Meet the VanBortel Family, they were traveling from Illinois looking to cash in on some bass fishing here in Florida. While doing so, they thought a family fun Everglades fishing trip was going to be the best bet. It was a great day in the glades for this family!
The VanBortel’s used live bait all trip long. As a result, they had a blast with constant action all trip long. It was fun watching them catch peacock bass, largemouth bass, Oscars, cichlids, and so much more.
Most of the bass caught weighed between 2-3 pounds. You can count on solid fish and a lot of them when visiting the glades.
Alligator Alley is the best spot for a wide variety of species and great action. I am looking forward to fishing with the VanBortel family again in the near future” – Captain Mark Rogers
“Just shortly after this fishing trip, I was back out on the water. This time, I had the pleasure of fishing with Bernie, who wanted to fish the Everglades. He came out and met me at the boat ramp at Mile Marker 41.
After cruising to our fishing spot, Bernie started catching numbers right away. Above, you can find the list of baits that were working on this fishing trip.
Bernie was coming after one of our cold fronts that rolled through. We had to surprise the fish and get them biting. Once the sun broke through, it was game on.
Bernie enjoyed every moment of catching over 15 largemouth bass on this fishing trip. I had a great time fishing with Bernie and I am looking forward to seeing him back on the water again soon!” – Capt Mark Rogers
