Alligator Alley is the road that connects Florida’s east and west coasts. You can travel along this road to access Naples, Fort Myers, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and much more. While driving along, make sure you stop and fish the long stretches of canals that make up the Everglades. Enjoy the remote location with an abundance of wildlife and more.

Here is your update and Everglades bass fishing report:

Captain Nick had the pleasure of fishing with Larry Wortzel who was traveling from Virginia to come down and explore what bass fishing had to offer. Wintertime is the perfect opportunity to escape to Florida and enjoy the weather. While doing so, Larry wanted to go fishing in the Everglades.

It was a cold start for Larry, but that did not stop the bass from biting or Larry from catching. Once the sun warmed things up, the action turned on. Larry ended his day with over 30 largemouth bass weighing up to 3 pounds, and a few Oscars and alligator gar.

Larry looks forward to returning to the water next time he travels to Southwest Florida! Captain Nick will be happy to show him around again.

Shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Nick had the pleasure of fishing with Ed and his Dad. They were traveling to Florida from Texas to enjoy the beaches and change of scenery. While doing so, bass fishing was a must, especially in the Everglades.

It was another cold morning, but the action was even better than the last trip. Artificial baits were the best method to catch bass. Ed and his dad caught over 60 largemouth bass using soft plastic worms and topwater baits. Most of the bass weighed between 1-2 pounds, with several large bass weighing 3 pounds.

Captain Nick is looking forward to his next adventure with Ed and his Dad on their next visit to Florida.

It was not long after this fishing adventure that Captain Nick was back out on Alligator Alley. This time, he enjoyed fishing with Jim and his Father-in-law. The Everglades is the perfect destination to catch peacock and largemouth bass. Jim and his father-in-law spent several hours fly fishing for bass.

Jim slays the bass with his special flies that work like magic. It was a quick 4-hour fishing trip with over 50 bass in the boat on fly rods. They had a fantastic experience and look forward to returning shortly with Captain Nick.

The bite was still on, and the action did not stop. It was not long until Captain Nick returned and explored what the Everglades had to offer. Jim explored the Everglades again with a friend, Forrest, this time. Fly fishing was still and always been the preferred method for these anglers. Most flies have an exotic pattern, causing various reactions, strikes, and catches.

Jim and Forrest adventure out for 8 hours on this fishing trip. The action was super decisive, with over 100 fish in the boat. 20 peacock bass were caught out of those 100 bass. This was an incredible day on the water with these extraordinary gentlemen. Captain Nick looks forward to getting back on the water soon with these guys.

Finally, Captain Nick adventured out for his last fishing trip of this report. He had the pleasure of fishing with Bill and his 2 daughters. They were in store for some excellent bass fishing with some bigger fish. Bill and his daughters caught big numbers with a 5-pound bass to top off the day. They threw all artificial baits, with topwater being the one that brought the big bass to the boat. Captain Nick is looking forward to getting out on the water with this wonderful family again in the near future!
