Continued Success on Lake Erie
Jason was traveling from Kentucky looking to spend some time in Erie, PA. While doing so, Lake Erie bass fishing was a must. After watching and seeing all the great fishing there is, he just had to try it out. Captain Mark had the pleasure of fishing with Jason and putting him on some great smallmouth fishing.
The smallmouth bass fishing is starting to heat up with the weather. When the water gets warm, the bass push to the deeper waters. Early in the morning, you can catch them on top water while they are schooling on baits. After that bite dies down a little bit, you can catch them dragging Galidas Grubs.
Jason caught several smallmouth bass in the 3-4 pound range. The action was steady and Jason is looking forward to his next trip back to Lake Erie. This was my first time fishing in a big lake like this. Captain Mark will be honored to get him on more fish in the near future!
Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Mark Rose was back out on Lake Erie with a Father-Son duo. Edwin and his son Evan were traveling to Lake Erie looking to spend some quality time on the water. Smallmouth bass fishing is something they always bonded over. The main lake yet again produced some quality bass.
A Destination of Beauty
Edwin and Evan boated numbers of smallmouth bass on this fishing trip. The most productive baits on this fishing trip were the Galidas Grub in chartreuse and skipjack. Water temperatures are heating up pushing smallmouth bass deeper. If you fish slower than normal, you can find some quality fish. Early morning topwater chug bugs also produced some great bites. The biggest fish on this trip was 4 pounds with several more in the 2-4 pound range.
Captain Mark is looking forward to seeing Edwin and Evan on the water again in the near future!
