The fishing conditions at the beginning of this trip made the bite slower. As the day progressed, things began to warm up. Ruth and Brian had a blast catching over 15 peacock bass along with several cichlids. The big bass eluded us on this fishing trip. It was still a great time for this couple, and they are looking forward to going after them again next time they visit.
Captain Joe is looking forward to catching more bass with Ruth and Brian next time!
It was not long after this fishing trip that Captain Robert Miley was out on the water. He had the pleasure of fishing with Michael and his son. Michael’s son was turning 17, and this was his birthday present. There is no better way to celebrate your birthday than a day on the water, especially at Miami’s Airport Lakes. They were traveling from Nova Scotia to enjoy the nice weather. They were also going on a family cruise but had to get some fishing in before the cruise.

This father-and-son duo will be back for more action in the near future! Captain Bob is looking forward to getting them on a big bass next time!
Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Bob took an adventure further South. The Miami Falls Canal System, where the canals are long, and the bass are big. Captain Bob had the pleasure of fishing with Richard. Richard was traveling from Arizona and was taking a vacation from the Mayo Clinic. Peacock bass fishing in Miami was always something intriguing to Richard and he had to try it.
The fishing conditions were fair on this trip. Richard caught some quality numbers of bass. The largest fish was a 5-pound largemouth bass, not to mention some quality catfish as a bi-catch.
He also caught several nice peacock bass in the 2-3 pound weight range. The fish were deeper than normal, making them slightly more difficult to catch. Richard had a great time catching fish and is looking forward to exploring the waters for a trophy next time!
