Scott and his wife Debbie were looking for a great day on the water. They were traveling to Lake Erie to enjoy what this great lake had to offer. Smallmouth Bass Fishing has been incredible this season and they were looking to cash in on the action. Captain Mark had the pleasure of showing them a great time on Lake Erie.
One of the blessings of this lake is the ability to fish for smallmouth bass with artificial baits. Jerk Baits and grubs were the most effective baits on this fishing trip. Some bass were still on beds with cooler water temperatures still holding. The water was at 71 degrees but is slowly heating up. As it does, the smallmouth bass will move into deeper water.
Consistent Action is Key
Most of the bass can be caught in the depth range of 4-6 feet. The ability to fight smallmouth bass on light tackle increases the reward. Captain Mark is looking forward to fishing with Scott and his wife Debbie again in the future!
