Captain Mark Shepherd with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Well, folks on the water with Dan from Wisconsin were all that good cheese comes from. These guys just love to fish mainly using spinner rods and never used a bait cast before. We got out on the Lake using some live bait to start the day out and got huge numbers. We did really well with using the live bait. Nothing was super big but just really steady fishing and the best part of the day was teaching them how to throw Bait Caster. I got working with these guys and they took to it like fish to the water, they did a fantastic job. Then we moved out into the grass flats out in the swamp. Started teaching them about the swimbaits and frogs, we ended up catching a few doing that and that’s something they can take home with them from their vacation. That’s something that will last them for a lifetime. This was a great way to spend the day with a lot of fun. It was very windy out on the lake but we made the best of it by putting a lot of fish in the boat today. This is Captain Mark Shepherd, Tight lines Everybody.

4 Hours with over 40 Fish on Lake Okeechobee
Captain Mark Shepard here with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report. Well folks doing a late afternoon trip today, just a short four hour deal. Fishing with two guys from Long Island Steven and Joe. Steve is a Charter Captain up in Long Island, so we had a lot of fun talking about business. What a lot of fun it is to spend time with clients and stuff like that. We put the Smack down on them and wacked the Fire out of them with only fishing 4 hours we had over 40 fish. Really steady bite with a lot of great number’s. Quality Bass with averages that were really nice and we got a couple of really good Large-mouth, it was just a lot of fun. We get to go out again tomorrow and we’re gone to mix it up a little bit tomorrow. Start off doing some live bait then some artificial. Tomorrow we’re going to try to dedicated most of the day to throwing artificial bait. Using artificial bait can be a little spotty with live bait your bite is sure to be on fire. We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Lake Okeechobee just getting fired up!

Well folks out on the water with two of my favorite clients that I haven’t seen in over a year, but they’ve fished with me quite a bit over the years. We’ve had a lot of great adventures and today we really had a great time. Lee and Sharon Frazier are from Georgia and they always bring me some good treats down. We had a wonderful day catching some super nice fish with some really good numbers. The weather’s perfect with Lake Okeechobee just getting fired up! The Lake is starting to get away from that summer pattern and migrations are starting to move in a little bit and the fun is begin. It’s going to be a wonderful season. The waters beautiful and we’re able to get around really easy if the water being up. I’m looking for a great season. This is Captain Mark Shepard wishing you tight lines.

Fishing adventures on Lake Okeechobee

Well folks it’s getting to be that time of year the when the Largemouth Bass start coming to the grass for feeding before they spawn. This is my favorite time of year the when the days start out cool then it warms up to be a bueatiful sunny day . Bass fishing is going to be strong so if you haven’t fished Okeechobee now is the time. I was out on the water today with Jim Robertson long time client. Getting out there field testing a little bit and had a super day. We got great number’s with good quality and the bite was really really nice. Looking forward to the next fishing adventures ahead out on Lake Okeechobee. This is Captain Mark Shepard with your Lake Okeechobee fishing report for folks out on the water. Today I fished with Chad and Steve who came down here from Michigan, 2 great guys. The Lake is still in the summertime mode during September, but what a phenomenal day. We caught some really big Fish, all great numbers and if this is the sign of what’s to come. Okeechobee is just on fire right now. This coming season is going to be phenomenal, so if you’re coming down here to South Florida, It’s a must see. You need to come over and check this Lake out. Fishing has been getting better and better every year and when you’re still catching like this, this time of the year its phenomenal. Just an all out blast!
