Freshwater Everglades Fishing Trip in South Florida

Freshwater Everglades Fishing Trip

Florida is known for its abundance of great fresh or saltwater fishing. The Florida Everglades take up most of South Florida. When conditions are right and water levels are low, bass fishing can be the best you have ever seen it. Largemouth Bass reign supreme as one of the best freshwater game fish you can search for in the Everglades. Explore the waters on a freshwater Everglades fishing trip next time visiting the beautiful sunshine state especially if you are located in Fort Lauderdale.

There are two locations that are incredibly productive for catching largemouth bass this time of year. Everglades Holiday Park and Sawgrass Recreational Park are excellent options to adventure out and experience all the Everglades has to offer. You can either catch largemouth bass or just explore the alligators or birds.

Captain Robert Miley adventured out on these two locations for some awesome bass fishing. Fishing conditions were the same on both days with hot warm weather with the sun shining. It was the perfect day to just enjoy a boat ride and catch the big number of Florida largemouth bass.

Captain Miley’s first trip was to Everglades Holiday Park. Jim was traveling from Vermont and really wanted to explore what the park had to offer. One of the benefits of fishing in the Everglades is the non-stop action you can experience. Jim caught a large number of between 50-60 largemouth bass on this fishing trip. The only downfall to fishing the Everglades is that your trophy bass are rare unless the water drops
very low.

Unfortunately, Jim had some very nice fish on but lost them on the boat. Even though this happened, it was a very successful freshwater Everglades fishing trip. Jim caught all of his fish on artificial bait. Senko worms, topwater, crankbaits, flukes and many more can help you catch the numbers you are looking for. They had a great day on the water and Captain Miley is looking forward to adventuring out with Jim again in the future.

Captain Miley adventured out at the Sawgrass Recreational Park on his next trip. Mike and his Uncle Pat were looking to crush some largemouth on the long stretches of beautiful canals. The Bass was most certainly biting on this incredible fishing trip.

It was another super hot day according to Captain Bob but that never stops the chomp. Mike and Pat were highly successful with landing over 100 bass in the boat. Most of the bass came on chug bugs and senkos. Largemouth bass can be caught on watermelon red or June bug-colored senkos.

Sawgrass Recreation also had very persistent wildlife that added a lot of value to the fishing trip. Traveling up the north canal was where we found most of our success. Mike and Pat will be back for more of this incredible fishing action.

When it comes to fishing the Florida Everglades, you do not want to miss out on when the action is red hot. Fishing has been incredible and if the rainy season is light this year, it will continue to be that way.
