Captain Joe Gruny had the pleasure of fishing with Joe and Wes. These gentlemen were looking to get out of the colder weather and get on some Lake Okeechobee largemouth bass. They were traveling from West Virginia and North Carolina. Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing was always something they talked about doing and it treated them well on their quick fishing trip.
The bass are biting strong this month. Joe and Wes put over 15 largemouth bass in the boat. The biggest bass came in at 5.5 pounds. As the month rolls on, the bass will continue to get better. For fishing the lake for the first time, this was the perfect introduction to a lifetime of Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing.
Captain Joe is looking forward to getting the opportunity to take Joe and Wes out again on Lake Okeechobee out of Slims Fish Camp.
That afternoon brought about another fishing adventure for Captain Joe. This time, he had the pleasure of fishing with Leo and Lee Chung. They were also traveling to Florida on vacation from South Korea. While they were here, Lake Okeechobee fishing was most certainly on the menu.
Belle Glade is on fire and producing some excellent fishing. Leo and Lee put a smack down on the Okeechobee bass. It was a slightly different fishing trip than the last with over 33 largemouth bass in the boat. Lee caught one weighing 5 pounds. Leo came in strong with the biggest bass of the day weighing 7.10 pounds. It was just shy of a Florida trophy catch and was the last fish of the day.
You truly can’t beat the action Okeechobee is putting out. Lee and Leo will be back for more of this incredible fishing action next time visiting. Captain Joe is looking forward to getting them back on the bass!
Just shortly after these trips, Captain Brian Brown had the pleasure of fishing with Sean. Sean was traveling to Florida to get away and wanted to catch some bass. Okeechobee City was the perfect option for him to do so. They adventured out of Garrads bait and tackle and explored what Lake Okeechobee had to offer.
Cold front conditions made it difficult to get on a strong bite but Captain Brian made it happen. Sean enjoyed catching catfish, mudfish, gar and Florida largemouth bass up to 4 pounds. The only way to truly get the full experience is catching the variety Lake Okeechobee has to offer. Sean enjoyed moving around and seeing different parts of the lake. The wildlife was an added bonus from birds to alligators.
Captain Brian is looking forward to the next opportunity to catch bass with Sean again in the future!
