Big Numbers Lake Okeechobee Fishing at Slims Fish Camp

Big Numbers Lake Okeechobee Fishing

Experiencing what Florida Fishing can offer is a dream for many families that travel to the state. You can catch Big Numbers Lake Okeechobee Fishing out of the variety of locations across the lake.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Ed Fletcher and his son Matt. Ed lives in Coral Springs and his son is traveling from school in Pennsylvania on holiday break.

We started fishing out of Belle Glade from the legendary Slims Fish Camp. The weather was perfect for an epic day out on the water when we went out at 10 am because of the rain early in the morning. It was 82 degrees with a light breeze out of the south. Ed and Matt were looking forward to some great Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing.

Wild-caught live shiners were the most effective technique. We ran through 6 dozen shiners fairly quickly on moving a total of 3 times. They put over 60 bass in the boat with a bass weighing up to 5 pounds. You can catch great quality from 4 to 5 pounds this time of year.

Ed and Matt were exhausted after catching so many fish. The bass is biting on Lake Okeechobee. Live bait entices the bigger fish and you do not want to miss out on your opportunity to catch your big one this season.

Book a trip of a lifetime today on Lake Okeechobee and I am looking forward to fishing with Ed and Matt again in the future.
