St Johns River North Florida Trophy Largemouth Bass Hunting

This is Capt Steve with fishing report for the St Johns River.

Here is your St Johns River North Florida Trophy Largemouth Bass Hunting report. I had the pleasure to fish with Al and Chris, who come from Indiana to fish for these trophies North Florida largemouth bass. The St. Johns River fishery is ON this time of year.

We had a really great day out on the river. We didn’t catch a lot of fish, but the ones we did catch were quality. One was about 5 pounds and the other big one was about 6 and we had plenty in the 3/4 pound range.

The weather cooperated all day and the conditions were perfect for fishing. It was an afternoon trip and once the sun started going down it got cooler, which was pleasant.

I am looking forward to them coming back down here and getting back on these fish. He’s going to be down here probably for 3 or 4 weeks sometime in February. So we’ll be going back out again soon and probably do the same thing we did today.

We fished shiners for most of the day. When you have lily pads, let those shiners run up underneath them. It really attracts the fish to the bait. That was our technique for the day.
