Rocky Point Fishing Trip
This archived Lake Okeechobee report follows Peter and Michael on their first trip to the Big O with Capt. Mark Rose.
The group launched from Clewiston and focused on the East Wall and Rocky Point area. Wild shiners were the primary presentation during this historical outing.
Peter and Michael caught about 50 largemouth bass, with the better fish reaching roughly 5 pounds.
The durable lesson is not that Rocky Point or a warming trend will always produce. Wind, water level, vegetation, water clarity, and fish position determine whether this part of the lake is productive on a given day.
