I had the pleasure of fishing with Mike Kowach and his buddy Joe. They were coming to fish the Reservoir with no expectation of what was going to unfold. The Reservoir is notoriously known for big bass but you can never get your hopes high because that’s fishing.
This Florida Fishing trip was an absolute dream. Mike landed a 9.2-pound largemouth bass to start the day. After this, his buddy landed one to size him up weighing 9.4 pounds. Finally, to top it off, Mike comes in with an absolute MONSTER largemouth bass weighing 12.11 pounds. A bass like such is truly a fish of a lifetime and one many bass anglers strive to catch their whole life.
We call one of these days on the water a truly stellar one. Memories and dreams were made along with now countless times to come back and catch a bigger one. The Rodman Reservoir in Gainesville is one of the only places in the state to produce such excellent fish.
