Back Yard Saint Johns River Fishing Florida Bass- West Volusia

River Fishing Florida Bass

This is Capt Steve with the fishing report for the St Johns River.

One of the better North Florida Largemouth Bass fisheries happens to be in my backyard. The Saint Johns River is a beautiful place this time of year.

I had the pleasure to fish with Dustin and Tasha from Wisconsin. They traveled to Florida to fish the Saint John’s because they wanted to experience a River Fishing Florida Bass Adventure.

Wild-caught shiners can provide a recipe for big bass letting them run up underneath the mats. The shiners did not produce the bite I was hoping for. We caught several-quality fish but nothing over 5 pounds.

No big fish will just be another reason to return to this beautiful part of the state again. They had some family members move to Daytona, so they will be back soon.

I had an amazing time out on the river with the conditions calm and breezy.
