Missed Opportunities Bass Fishing

Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing will keep you on your toes when traveling to Florida. Missed Opportunities Bass Fishing can keep you wanting more of this amazing fishery.

I had the pleasure of fishing with Jim and Susan traveling to Florida for what the bass fishing had to offer. Susan has never been on Lake Okeechobee and she was in for a blast.

Fishing can get tough this time of year but we managed to have a trip of a lifetime. Susan missed a couple of fish she may have nightmares about but there is always next time. While fishing is mostly about catching, the one that gets away keeps you hunting for another.

Summertime fishing is all about taking your time and letting the bass take the bait. Heavy vegetation does not make it easy for the bass to do this leading to many missed opportunities.

Toward the end of the trip, Jim and Susan got into a grove and put many quality largemouth bass in the boat. They caught up to 20 bass weighing from 2 to 4 pounds.

It was a hot day but one that will last forever. We had a great time on our short morning trip and I am looking forward to fishing with them again.
