I had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Coby Esponge and his wife Tina. Coby is a captain in Lousiana and came to check out what Lake Okeechobee is all about. He has traveled across the state from South Florida to Central Florida catching bass.
We had an awesome day on the water. Our day started out with a bang with Tina catching a 5 pounder. The north end of Lake Okeechobee has been producing excellent fishing trips. As the day went on, we also traveled down the west side of the lake to Harney Pond.
It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. It was awesome to also experience fishing with another captain and having the ability to discuss what he does. He focuses on Red Fish and Trout out of Louisiana.
We had a great time out on the boat and I am looking for to getting the opportunity to fish Louisiana one day. I also am looking forward to them coming back soon.
