Top Water Fishing Searching for Florida Largemouth Bass

Top Water Fishing

Florida Fishing Lake Okeechobee can get really exciting this time of year. Male bass is still prepping for the females to come in off the main lake. Top Water Fishing can produce some incredible action.

I had the pleasure of fishing with a repeat customer of mine JR and his brother-in-law Mike. JR was traveling from Pennsylvania while Mike was from Florida. They wanted to explore what Lake Okeechobee Bass Fishing had to offer this time of year.

Conditions were tougher than normal on this trip. It was cold, gray, and windy but that did not stop the action. The largemouth bass was feeding strong and making way for their female counterparts to lay their eggs.

JR put on a topwater clinic in the morning to catch multiple quality largemouth bass. Most of the bass caught on this trip were males in the 2.5-pound range.

Later in the day, JR and Mike caught some bass on Gambler swimbaits. We had a great day out on the water and I am looking forward to doing it again very soon. The Lake is turning on and we would not want you to miss out on your adventure!

For most of my life fishing has been a passion. Over the years I have fished bass tournaments across Pennsylvania and on lakes and rivers up and down the East Coast. I have participated in B.A.S.S., FLW Stren Series, Walmart BFL’s, and ABA tournaments along with finishing 2nd in the 2012 Keystone Bass Classic on Lake Erie, to name a few.
