Smallmouth in June Went out in mid June for smallmouth. Lots of crazy weather this year. Fishing wasn’t awesome but managed to catch some fish and had a great day on the lake. Captain definitely provided some entertainment for our teenagers!

Had a great time. We were on big Fish first thing in the morning.. we caught several nice small mouth each. Very nice boat and well equipped. Can’t wait to do it again..

Lake Erie - Mark Rose When I was looking for a great Christmas gift for my family full of bass fisherman, I started researching smallmouth fishing on Lake Erie. The first guide I called was primarily a walleye fishing guide and he said if you are looking to get into the smallmouth, Captain Mark Rose is your guy, and boy was he right! I booked the trip in December for the third week in May for 3 days when Mark told me was a good time to hit Lake Erie for smallmouth. When we met Mark, we immediately felt we had the right guy for our fishing experience. He knew exactly where to go and we literally started catching fish on the first cast. Mark has the right size boat and the best equipment available for success. Despite the terrible weather (wind, rain, cold) we caught 60 to 70 smallmouth the first day. It was a blast! Over the 3 days, we landed upwards to 130 smallmouth. We all easily crushed our personal bests with upper 4 pound to over 5 pound smallmouth. My 14 year old son caught three 5 pounders the first day! We were also able to check a “northern fishing trip” off my dad’s bucket list. We thank Captain Mark Rose and BassOnline not only for great customer service but for a great customer experience! First Class We booked a trip for two boats with Capt Jon Polanco and Capt John Miller for a day of smallmouth fishing. The weather couldn't have been much worse but these two guys were exceptional. Not only did they put us onto fish they were so much fun to spend a day with fishing. The two boats competed against each other and Jon and John made that experience so enjoyable. Full day trip with Captain Jamie Me and my father booked with Captain Jamie and it was an unbelievable experience. We caught walleye, drum, catfish, small mouth, perch, and rock bass. Jamie put us on the fish let me tell you, we probably caught 150 fish in the two days we were out between the 4 of us. Jamie is a really good guide, polite, fun and keeps the day entertaining. Presque Isle Bass Mark did an outstanding job yesterday he put us on the smallies and we had a blast. My buddy and I landed 40 while other boats were complaining that the fishing was horrible. Mark has a very nice and comfortable boat, I highly recommend his service.

Lake Erie smallmouth experience Capt Mark Rose spent the morning with my 11 y/o son and I on a very windy and chilly Lake Erie. We landed some monster fish and had a great time. My son, Colton, got a 6 lb and 5 lb smallmouth and I got a 4 lb smallmouth and a steelhead that battled me for several minutes before we got him in the net. Drove back home to WV afterwards and already thinking about when we can go back to do it again. Thanks Mark for a great experience.

Smallies and Drum on Lake Erie We went out with Capt. Mark Rose on Lake Erie on a day that had some promising bad weather. He was very concerned for our safety and I appreciated that. We were able to get out on the Lake and he helped use catch some HUGE small mouth bass with my youngest (11 years old) catching his (and I think the largest on the boat ever) PB clocking in at 6.83 pounds! We also fought some huge drum and had fun catching large mouth bass at the end when the weather turned bad. The techniques consistented mostly with drop shot worms at 35-40 feet and the drum loved the tubes. Had a great time on Erie for sure!

Buchholtz I fish for smallies all over the Great Lakes. Did an evening trip with Capt Johnathan while traveling for a buisness trip to Erie PA. We battled wind and summertime patterns and still managed to boat both smallmouth and largemouth. By the end of the trip I felt like I was fishing with a fishing buddy vs a fishing guide. Great Trip. Great Action He put us on a ton of smallmouth. Biggest fish was a 5.5 very nice smallie on a jerkbait. Caught probably 30+ bass in 6 hours along with a white bass, and a few drum. Capt. Mark Rose comes through again The fishing gods were not kind to me this year when it comes to big fish. Lake Trout on Lake Erie Mark knows where when and how to catch these 15 to 30 pound monsters. He took Ed and I out yesterday December 5, 2022. We found lots of Lakers in about 18 feet of water. Used scented jugs and caught them continuously! It will wear your arms out.

Huge lake trout Captain Mark worked with me on rescheduling 3 times due to fowl weather on Lake Erie . WOW! It was worth it. Erie smallies were the main fish of interest but Mark found the lake trout were there so we switched to them and let me tell you what a great choice. In his New Ranger 622FS ( which is a beast in the rough water ) and top notch tackle we were catching huge lake trout on almost every drop. 3 of which were over 20lbs. Lake Erie Bronze backs My fall fishing trip this yr was a cold windy day on lake Erie. Capt Mark Rose with his new Ranger boat was putting us on fish as usual. The fishing was a little slow but they were there just not real hungry. We did manage some nice fish even though the conditions were tough. Mark was the professional as always and gave us a greta day on the lake to finish the seson. If you come to Erie and need a guide there is only 1 guy by far that I would go with. Fall finale Ryan and I usual fall trip with Capt. Mark was a tough day due to mother nature limiting where Mark wanted to go. However as usual Mark would do his best to get us some hookups . We managed to pull some nice bronze backs in one of his holes early on and as the lake settled a little Mark was able to get us to another one of his spots. His new Ranger is an unbelievable upgrade to one of the most safe and comfortable bass boats made..We finished out the day landing more nice bronzys . Given we were the only boat out there speaks for itself . Enjoyed it as always.

Oil City Smallmouth Trip The weather didn't allow us to to get out on Lake Erie so Captain Mark said we needed to make an audible and drive south. We did and it was a fantastic trip boating over 30 smallmouth out of the river.

Captain Mark is the fish whisperer!!! Before our trip started Captain Mark said it was going to be a tough day. We must have different definitions of tough because he put us over the fish and it was up to us to put them on the boat. We only caught about 10 but the smallest one was probably high 3lbs. The quality of lake Erie smallmouth made up for the lack of quantity. If you've never gone out on lake erie, do yourself a favor and book a trip.

Fall smallmouth This is my third trip with Mark and not one has disappointed. This time I took my 7 yr old son and Mark was extremely patient and took time to explain things. We caught over 15 smallies and was incredible action once we found them. I myself am an avid smallmouth fisherman and do great where I fish. Bass Fishing Erie We started out planning on going out into deep water for small mouth, but the weather turned on us and we had to turn back. Initially I was disappointed, but our guide Mark took us back into some hidden spots in a cove to fish for large mouth and we crushed it. It was even better than I would have expected if we had fished deep water. Would recommend 10/10.

Fun trip It was my wife and I's anniversary trip to Erie and Capt Rose didn’t disappoint. The whole trip was fun. I would definitely do it again!

September trip I took my 2 brothers with captain mark rose on an Erie trip. Mark was very honest about the conditions which were not yet gavorable for a consistent smallie bite but our plans weren’t flexible so we went. Mark has a beautiful comfortable 23 foot ranger boat w a 350 outboard that got us to the fishing area 5 miles offshore very quickly. He had state of the art electronics and excellent rods and reels. We made multiple drifts over s reef where there were many marks in the graph and we caught 30 or 40 sheepshead up to 9 pounds. Not exactly what we were aiming for but lots of fun nonetheless. My one brother caught a ob smallie over 5. My other brother lost a larger one when it took to the air. Overall it was a great trip. I would highly recommend a trip with mark to sample the amazing fishery that is Lake Erie and would try to arrange a spring or fall fishing trip for more consistent smallie action. I have been on many guided trips and this was by far the best equipped boat and the best equipment I have have ever sampled. The prices are reasonable and booking thru the website was very easy.

Half Day Fishing with Captain Matk We had SUCH a good time!!! Mark took us out on Lake Erie and then we drift-fished, letting the current do the work for us. In a half-day trip, we caught more fish than on ALL our previous trips combined (not with Mark, but with other charters in other lakes/oceans). We caught walleye, smallmouth, drum, and a channel cat that was the biggest fish I’d ever seen.

Based on Mark’s recommendation, we will be back in the fall to try for more smallmouth.

Lake Erie Smallmouth I Had an opportunity to fish with Mark Monday July 25th. He was very honest about the fishing conditions before we set out which wasn’t ideal for smallmouth. However, you can’t catch them on the couch, so we decided to give it a try. Ended up with a solid morning with a few largemouth and 1 very nice smallmouth (my personal best). We also caught a bunch of drum, not what we were wanting but gave us something to pull on a pole! The boat and gear were very nice and Mark is a good dude! I’m planning on coming back this fall when the smallmouth bite is on fire.
