Check out this Lake Erie Bass Fishing Adventure with Local Expert and Captain Mark Rose:

Captain Mark had the pleasure of fishing with Chuck and his buddy Ryan. Chuck was traveling up from Kentucky and Ryan was coming from Oil City, PA. They were looking to get out on Lake Erie to catch some smallmouth bass. Leaving out of Erie, PA was a great option for them, especially during these summer months.

The conditions lined up just right to produce an epic day on the water. This morning trip with light winds and clear sky’s made for the perfect conditions for the fish to bite. Captain Mark took them to the first spot and they started throwing drop shots rigs. After several casts, they started reeling in some quality catches.

30 feet below Chuck and Ryan were some really nice smallmouth bass. Along with exceptional catches from bass, they also started to catch some walleye. They ended the day with 10 smallmouth bass and 20 walleye. It was a great day for them with warm weather and sunshine.

Chuck and Ryan are looking forward to coming back to Erie or even getting on some bass in Florida on their next fishing adventure. Captain Mark would be honored again to get them out on the water!

It was not long after this fishing adventure and charter that Captain Mark was back out on the water. This time he had the pleasure of fishing with David and his son David. They were traveling from Boston, MA for some Lake Erie Smallmouth Bass Fishing. Lake Erie, as always, did not disappoint.

David and David were celebrating David Sr’s 50th birthday. It is always a pleasure and joy to be able to spend these quality moments with someone on their special day. Fishing surely is a great way to celebrate this milestone.

It was a great day of catching for these gentlemen. David and David landed 10 smallmouth bass and 16 walleyes. All the fish caught were on drop-shot style baits in about 30 feet of water. The best bite is in the morning hours and then slows down as the heat rises. If you want to capitalize, get up early and out on Lake Erie. There is no better way to spend time with your son than on a Lake catching fish. David and David had a great time fishing and can’t wait to do it again.

Captain Mark is looking forward to fishing with David and David again in the near future as we discover the best fishing holes for anglers in Lake Erie!
