Reviews

Well, you have gotten this far, thank you. Reading this far to make sure you have an enjoyable day on the water. We cannot stress the value of having and reading bass fishing reviews. A fishing charter service without substantial reviews is a BIG red flag.

But are all the fishing charter service reviews on ONE platform? If they have good reviews on Google but none on their website or Yelp, Facebook, or TripAdvisor, beware; it’s also a red flag. Many fishing charter services buy fake reviews, so this is a way to validate the company.

So, the fishing was successful, and all went well, then it is accustomed to leaving a review on your favorite platform to support the work that the bass fishing guide did on that day. Make sure to review the captain on things they can control, not the weather. But if the fish are biting on the first cast, and the captain has no more lures, then yes, that’s uncalled for. But in the same scenario, you run out of living bait because you didn’t buy enough. That’s not the guide’s fault in the end. Just be fair.

The difference in Trophy Bass Fishing in Orlando

Are there any lakes you want to explore specifically? The easy access opportunity to experience trophy bass fishing in Kissimmee is literally right outside Disney Worlds’ gates within the vicinity of where you are staying.

There are many lakes in the area, some 5000. But none have produced trophy bass for many people who have caught fish. Years of West lake Toho as a regular destination for all the bass pro competitors on the Bassmaster and FLW tours catching fish. Lake Toho was named the most renowned largemouth bass fishing lake in 2001 with a single day 5 lb limit at 45lbs 02 oz weighing 9 lbs bass. With such beautiful choices in Orlando, a day break from the theme park with a chance at a great fishing adventure is something considered by many.

Is this the best bass fishing in Florida?

The list of some of the best bass fishing lakes across Florida includes West Lake Tohopekaliga. Still, it should also have Lake Okeechobee, Lake George, which is the largest lake in Florida, but each could be the best on any given day.

You would have to include Lake Ocklawaha (Rodman Reservoir), Florida Everglades, Lake Talquin, Stick Marsh, Fellsmere Lake, Lake Ida, Airport Lakes, and Lake Tarpon as the place to put on your must-visit list.

Bass Fishing Trip Planning Phase

Are you thinking of planning a fishing trip? Take a surf on the internet, but beware, it can be overwhelming. However, a few things customers have shared with us made a difference.

Don’t but from social media sites like Facebook, Instagram and others. Unfortunately, as we all know, Social media has not been filtered, meaning you can only believe about half of what you see. We’re not saying it’s terrible, but use it as a validator.

What’s that mean? Once you find a guide or service you like, use social media to validate that they are active, currently guiding customers, not just posting pics of fish they caught. Social media can be helpful, use it wisely and understand it’s not always as it seems.

Use Online Technology to Help!

Once you decide on the bass fishing trip, make sure they have an online booking; why? You can try to call and leave a message and wait for a call back to tell you they don’t have availability, and you can start the process over again. You can call, and the fishing guide answers, but then ask yourself why isn’t he or she out working? The online process works very well for both sides to save time and improve commination, plus maybe most important gives you written proof of your reservation versus a verbal phone conversation.

I hope this information from customers helps you to a smooth and successful bass fishing trip reservation. Remember, just link and plumber or any tradesman; you’re looking for a dedicated professional bass fishing guide that helps you create a great fishing trip for you and yours!

Your Lake Toho Bass Fishing Trip

Now that you have your trip scheduled with a bass fishing guide that is USCG licensed on West Lake Toho. What’s next? All top Kissimmee bass fishing guide should have standards for very high safety, high-quality fishing gear, and a clean up to date bass boat.

They should have given you a call before your trip to discuss all details? Like, would you prefer to fish with Orlando bass or crappie? If Orlando bass, do you want to be catching fish with live bait or would you prefer to throw artificial lures? Are you more comfortable with using bait casters reels or spinning reels? And do you prefer to reel with your right or left hand?

These are only some of the questions they should go over with you. If you show up to the boat ramp and they haven’t asked or they are sitting in the boat rigging rods as they ask you these questions you probably have a long day ahead of you as your bass fishing guide is not prepared.

Hopefully, your guide is like the ones on this page. Have done the right thing to prepare to go Toho fishing and the Orlando bass will reward you with nice fish and a great trip!

Best times to Fish Lake Tohopekaliga

Always consider the temperature and weather. This may influence the Orlando bass fishing guide’s thoughts on whether they genuinely hope the fishing pressure of the Toho bass fishing is going to be successful.

Most Orlando bass populations of ten pounds big bass in Lake Tohopekaliga prefer January, February, and March. Many local bass guide service like April, May, and June as the large mouth bass are very active and aggressively feeding. From July to November the large mouth bass species move out of shallow places in the Kissimmee grass or hydrilla throughout the lake after being kept in shallow areas.

Among the best summer fishing spots are North steer beach, Big grassy, Tarpon Springs, Brown’s Point, and Lanier Point. The lake’s north shores are surrounded by tall grass and exotic plants which hides large bass populations eager to bite.

Largemouth Bass Fishing Tips on Lake Toho

Anglers who aim to catch trophy largemouth bass should spend their time at the mouth of Shingle Creek and along the enhanced shoreline east and west of South Port Park, Lanier Point, Goblets Cove, or Brown’s Point. All great areas for live bait or artificial lures.

The hydrilla patches off shore on Lake Toho near the channel markers 24 and Goblets Cove will also attract numerous bass to the artificial lures and live bait. In addition, anglers looking at moving water in a rainfall, Lake Toho and the Kissimmee chain have runoff zones, all places that we have caught fish.

When trophy bass fishing on Lake Toho it is unique in that you can effortfully employ both live bait and artificial lures in any of these areas.

Lake Tohopekaliga Habitat

Like most Florida lakes, Orlando bass on Lake Tohopekaliga lives in shallow grassed areas with natural bullrushes, maidencane, and hydrilla’s, which support the central portion of the lake. Several hundred species depend on this environment, including bluegill, catfish, crappie, wild shiners, and Orlando bass on Lake Toho.

In addition to local vegetation, the ground floor of Lake Toho has improved with the extreme decrease in water flow. St. Cloud canals are the primary source of supplying water for locals. In addition, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Agency placed fish attractors at Lake Tohopekaliga, a renowned wildlife and fish habitat. For maps with coordinates, see the FWC site.

The one thing which remains the same in Lake Toho is the abundance of Trophy bass fishing. So, if your goal is to have a unique fishing holiday in Florida or enjoy all the best Florida beaches and lakes available for your holiday, then consider reserving a bass guide service.

Lures/Live Baits on Lake Toho

Again, many Orlando bass fishing captains don’t specialize in both live bait and artificial lures. So be sure to ask; most Orlando bass fishing guide services are live bait only.

If throwing artificial lures on the Kissimmee Chain, the color stays the same all year, but the bait change. You can ask Captain Bill, Captain John, or Captain Steve to use senkos, worms, frogs, or chatter bait, but they all need to be black and blue or green pumpkin based on the watercolor. Stick with these colors, and you will come home staying how much you enjoyed fishing!

Fishing Tackles

The Toho fishing charter will supply all the bass fishing equipment. The most reliable spin-and-reel baitcaster fishing equipment. If you are bringing your own, you want to fish braided line, preferably 20lb to 30lb.

Lake Toho Reviews

Wheelchair Accessible Fishing!

Lake Toho
★★★★★
Excellent charter who was able to accommodate a disabled person in our party. Our captain met us with a pontoon boat which allowed a wheelchair to roll right on/off without needing to transfer to another seat. Highly recommend if anyone in your party has mobility issues and cannot board a typical bass boat.
