Fishing Lake Garcia
The Lake Garcia Reservoir is a 3,149-acre reservoir along the east coast of central Florida. Facilities at the lake include a double-lane concrete boat ramp, parking lot, and picnic pavilion. There are good numbers of largemouth bass produced each year and shared as trophy catches. Largemouth, bluegill, and black crappie are also present here. In this case, great Florida fishing for you is spelled Ansin Reservoir!
Lake Garcia Fl Fishing
Anglers have choices when fishing Garcia, lots of grass, shell bars, cypress trees, and even a few deepwater locations in the middle of the lake. The canals in Garcia Lake, fishermen report, have an adequate concentration of fish, especially panfish. Most anglers focus on the scattered vegetation that is throughout the lake.
Considered a big open reservoir, so not much protection from the elements, especially the wind. When the wind blows, it tends to stir up the H2O, making it off-color at best. If you’re not familiar with Fl, it’s common on Blue Cypress, Toho, and even Okeechobee.
It’s considered one of the most scenic lakes in Central Florida, along with Farm 13 and Fellesmere Lake, which was also once farmland. It’s regarded as a shallow body of water, so caution should be taken until you become familiar with the place. The blessing is, it’s not stumpy like the counterpart, Stick Marsh reservoir, but it does have submerged levees outlining the ditches like Fellesmere Reservior. Because management uses it to filter aqua, at times, it’s fully submerged grass of all types, a fair amount of lily pads, and some reeds. You won’t lack seeing wildlife; it’s pretty abundant.
The reservoir is favored because the fishing is good; once you learn it, it produces better each time you visit. If there is a downside, the average fish is smaller, simply because to the large bass population. With all Florida lakes, this one has its share of trophy bass; you have to weed through the masses to find them. So, if you are looking for fun, great action, this may be a place for you.
You’ll like this Reservoir if you give it a chance!!!
Fishing Technique
The techniques to catching are endless; whatever you want to do, it is available. Flip, Pitch, Crank, Fluck, Worm, and Topwater are only limited by your ability and the vegetation. Lures that cover with speed and distance are good choices when the fish are active; a speed worm or fluke will allow you to do that effectively and not get frustrated. When the angling area is less active, try to share casting a Senko and a great old reliable worm.
If the wind is blowing, try adding a small 1/16 weight to your bait to provide more feel, control, and casting distance—my favorite color in Central Florida is Green Pumpkin, which always does well. As a choice, we like dark colors, Junebug, and black.
If topwater is your thing, try a Zoom Horny toad soft plastic frog, as it will come through all the cover very well. And like all reservoirs in Florida, the Wild Shiners work very well.
