Lake Okeechobee Giant Largemouth

Hey everybody this is Capt Dave Lauer calling in a fishing report for Lake Okeechobee.

Fishing conditions are something you have to be aware of when you go fishing. Wind could either make a spot great or make a spot unfishable. The wind was not that bad today but we still had to move around to find some more protected areas. Delana and Maurice were in for a nice breezy day with the possibility of catching a Lake Okeechobee Giant Largemouth.

Fishing in Arkansas is not like fishing in Florida but the similar grass structures, prepared them for what to expect out of Lake Okeechobee. They brought down some heavy rods, all braided up.

Throwing artificial was not as effective as we wanted, catching several fish in the 2 pound range. They wanted a true Florida Largemouth Bass and the only way to do so was to get some live shiners.

Focusing in on some outside edges and grass structures, Delana catches the one she was looking for and her personal best largemouth bass. This fish weighed a monstrous 9 pounds 10 ounces, a fish of a life-time.
