Florida Fishing Slims Fish Camp
This is another fishing report of Okeechobee bass fishing with Capt Dave Lauer from Lake Okeechobee.
The South end of Lake Okeechobee is looking amazing this morning. The sunrise shines and lights up Slims Fish Camp so perfectly. A true must-see if you are ever in South Central Florida. Mike has traveled from Wisconsin to hook into some giant largemouth bass. It is time for a Florida Fishing Slims Fish Camp Adventure.
The conditions were looking great for a successful day of fishing. The breeze kept the water moving and the baitfish schooling. The bass was eating.
The shiner bite was on this morning. When you are looking to catch numbers, shiners are always the way to go. They provide an interesting aspect to the sport of fishing. On the South end of Lake Okeechobee Slim’s Fish Camp provides the best wild shiners around.
We caught right around 15 quality largemouth bass with the best one weighing right around 5 pounds. An overall great day and I am looking forward to their return.

For most of my life fishing has been a passion. Over the years I have fished bass tournaments across Pennsylvania and on lakes and rivers up and down the East Coast. I have participated in B.A.S.S., FLW Stren Series, Walmart BFL’s, and ABA tournaments along with finishing 2nd in the 2012 Keystone Bass Classic on Lake Erie, to name a few.
