The lake has produced record bass catches, and anglers can fish for bluegill, black crappie, and Redear sunfish. Fishing is allowed year-round, except during waterfowl hunting periods. Anglers can launch boats, kayaks, and canoes at three separate ramps, bank fish from the levees, or fish from two fishing docks near the boat ramps. The chain comprises Alligator Lake (3,406 acres), Lake Lizzie (792 acres), Coon Lake (148 acres), Trout Lake (273 acres), and Lake Gentry (410 acres). The chain also connects to the Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, allowing anglers to experience the fishing opportunities offered by both chains.
In the past, Alligator Chain of Lakes has hosted a variety of amateur fishing competitions, including the popular Big Fish Open. The Big Fish Open is a recreational catch-and-release amateur tournament for children and adults held every fall as part of Kissimmee’s Great Outdoor Days.

Harmony Golf Preserve is just down the street from Alligator’s Lake, a Johnny Miller Signature Design Golf Course. Harmony Golf Preserve opened in 2002 and spans 260 acres, with several lakes.
They have some access, primarily private and other Kayaking; the area is highly challenging and picturesque, surrounded by wetlands. The broad meadows, towering pines, and natural ponds form a stunning course for the golf preserve.
Possibly the best part of Harmony is The Tavern. After a long day on the water at Lake Alligator, the Tavern features a menu of locally sourced dishes—globally inspired cuisine infused with the flavors of an executive chef and family recipes.
