Rodman Reservoir Fishing with Ken Booked a trip near Gainesville with Capt Ken. Went out on Rodman Reservoir. Caught numbers of largemouth bass. Caught even a trophy bass too. Capt Ken was amazing. I will book a trip again.

Captain Ken put us on the fish. Nice boat and equipment. He sourced some excellent bait. Ken is big bass specialist. We were blessed to catch a 11 pound 1 once largemouth bass.. Can't wait to fish with captain Ken again.

Lake Santa Fe My dad flew in from Ohio to Bass fish in a Florida Lake, it was on his Bucket list, he is 85 years old and does not get around well, Captain Ken accommodated him and I and helped me get my father in and out of the boat. Captain Ken was very knowledgeable of the lake and the species in it and and taught us both how to properly fish with baitcasters and shiners, something nether one of us had done, We caught pickerel, bowfin and of course large mouth bass. My dad wants to come back and do it again, thanks Captain Ken for helping us make a memory.

Had a great day on the water with Capt Ken Walker! His fishing skill is notable but his knowledge of Rodman Reservoir is second to none! When one spot was not sufficiently productive he moved to another and didn’t waste any time. He predicted I would beat my PB and I did, not only once but twice! Amazing trip with Capt Ken. he is a really entertaining guide with a deep knowledge and love of his lake. If you want to really understand what is going on with that ecosystem, a morning spent with Ken would be better than any amount of time reading a website or a book.Aside from that he was just a really good host, interested in what we had to say and provoking really interesting, amusing conversation. The whole thing was easy from start to finish. If the ecology of lakes were in the hands of men like Capt. Ken, there would be a lot more alligators. Excellent day, thank you.

What made this charter extra special is taking my grandson, (that flew in from Virginia,) and introducing him to Bass Fishing. As usual, Captain Ken put us on the bite right away. Jason, (my grandson) stayed busy once he understood the guidance from Ken and began landing good numbers unassisted in the 3–5-pound range. Then he latched into a lunker that weighed in at 9lbs. 3ozs! (My personal best is 8lbs. 1oz.) We fished from 0700 until 1300 and called it a day. Returned the next day and picked up where we left off with one notable exception. Jason landed an 11lbs. 3oz "Behemoth!" To say we were overjoyed with the charter is an understatement. My grandson will be spoiled for life because this kind of success isn't normal for a novice fisherman; it is however standard operating procedure for our guide, Captain Ken Walker. Hot summer day with Capt Ken Walker on Rodman Had a trip to Fl and decided to fish on June 21st knowing in the heat of summer Capt Ken moved around until he found the spot. Caught several bass with the largest being 6-8 and 7-5 fished until the heat of the day started to climb and the bite slowed and called it a day. I am 72 and fished all my life and still fish often. Capt Ken is very friendly and professionable. Will plan a trip with him this winter or spring for sure

Trophy Bass trip I took my son-in-law on a Bass trip with Captain Ken Walker April 1st. Ken was outstanding and taught us the techniques needed to land giant Bass. We caught 21 bass and 5 of them were over 8 lbs 3 at 7 lbs and some 6 and 5 pounders. That was the best experience we've ever had and would highly recommend this to anyone who loves to fish. We are definitely going again with Ken. Thanks Captain!!

The bite was awesome! This was the 2nd charter I've booked with Captain Ken Walker; my 1st was 11/16/2021 and the conditions was adverse. Although it was windy as the Dickins, the trip today was an exceptional charter!! We boated so many Bass in the 1.5 to 3 pound range we lost count. We boated three in the 5 lbs. range and one 6 lbs. 12 ozs. beauty. The icing on the cake was the 8 lbs. 1 ozs. trophy that equaled my personal best. I'm 100% certain had I booked six hours instead of four, I'd beat my personal best today. I've fished with Ken twice, once under adverse conditions and once, today in very windy conditions. Both charters were successful. Captain Ken knows this body of water and will absolutely put you on the bite. Excellent Guide and a darned nice guy!

Exceeded My Most Optimistic Expectations I first heard about Rodman 40 years ago and it had always been a place I dreamed of fishing. After speaking with a friend who had fished with Ken Walker many times, I gave him a call and ended up booking 4 full days with him in mid March. I’m an experienced fisherman and have bass fished all over the country. My largest bass to date had been 8 Lbs 3 oz and I told Ken I wanted something bigger. Given the time of year and the amount of time we had, Ken felt confident that we could do it! I meet Ken at the dock on the first morning and in a matter of minutes, I was confident that I had picked the right guy. His gear was well maintained having spent a career on the water in the USCG, I could see immediately that he knew how to handle a boat. We were fishing in no time and almost immediately, I was catching fish. The technique Ken used with the live shiners was a bit of an adjustment, given that I fish almost exclusively with artificial lures, but he was patient and I soon had the hang of things. To say that I had a good experience would be a tremendous understatement! I caught a new personal best before 10 AM on the first day and we were off to the races! In 4 days with Ken, I caught three 8 pounders, three 9 pounders, one that went 10.4, and about 2 dozen 6 and 7 pounders! All of which were released, unharmed back in to the lake. I put approximately 20 fish in the boat each day. From my point of view, it just doesn’t get much better than that! I would highly recommend that anyone interested in catching big bass, should contact Ken and discuss their desires. He clearly knows his business and is a skilled guide and fisherman. Couple that with the fact that he’s a good guy to share a boat with and I think you have an unbeatable combination. I won’t suggest that everyone will have the success that I was blessed with, but you won’t know if you don’t try! I will certainly be back!

Excellent fishing day. We had a Father&Son fishing day (1/6/22) at Rodman Reservoir with Captain Ken Walker and ended being one of the best fishing days I have ever been. Capt. December Fishing Trip When my in-laws moved to Florida last fall, I started planning a fishing trip for our visit at Christmas. I've heard about Rodman Reservoir for years and really wanted to fish it. I found Captain Ken online and booked a 6 hour trip for my wife and I. Needless to say, my wife is now hooked on bass fishing. Captain Ken put us on fish from start to finish and together we landed 21 fish. Ken was very knowledgeable and patient. It felt like we were out fishing with an old friend. We will be fishing with Ken from now on when we come to Florida!

The weather was against us. Arrived 30 minutes early and the guide, Captain Ken was already there with the boat launched. Weather didn't do us any favors, it was chilly in the low 40's; for Florida, that's COLD. The bite was slow. Over six hours we boated eight Large Mouths the largest being a five pounder. For the most part female fish, very strong and healthy. We did however hook up and break off at least five or six more. (As a bonus we boated a nice Chain Pickerel.) Ken Walker was a 1st rate guide. By all reasonable expectations, the weather conditions should have guaranteed a lousy outing. Not at all, the bite was slow but we were on fish and lost several big ones. Ken knew this reservoir like the back of his hand. I'd recommend Ken Walker any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'll be returning for the spring time spawn. You'll not find a better guide at any price.

Very knowledgeable Went bass fishing on Rodman Reservoir. Ken took us to one of his hot spots and after the first cast I hooked a 3 pound bass within 5 minutes. Unfortunately that was the only bass of the day but we caught several, i think he called the "bowfin"? Ken was very knowledgeable about the reservoir and where and how to fish for bass.

Rodman Reservoir - Capt. Ken Walker Just wanted to thank Capt. Ken Walker for a fabulous day of bass fishing on the Rodman Reservoir, March 11th, 2020. Pierre, Stan and myself had an amazing time. Although the days bite was slow due to seasonal conditions and we didn't land any 10 plus lb. fish, we had a great day catching 5 different species which included 5 good sized bass. All were in the 6+ lb. range, with one weighing in at over 8 lbs. Even though all three of us are seasoned anglers, Captain Ken took the time to coach us in a style of angling that we were unfamiliar with. Being a Pro tournament angler from Canada myself, I felt out of my element for this style of angling. However, after a short learning period, we began to 'catch on' and started hooking some really nice fish. I would recommend anyone looking for a great guided freshwater or saltwater fishing tour in the north/central region of Florida, to 'hook-up' with Captain Ken Walker. You will not be disappointed. Rodman Fishing With Captain Ken Walker This was our first visit to Rodman and Captain Ken Walker made sure we would not forget it. My son caught one that weighed 10.25 pounds and one that weighed about 7.5 pounds! Most of the other bass were in the 4-7 pound category. Just a great day of fishing. Ken is very knowledgeable and a great delight to talk to. I hope to return soon, and Ken is who I will contact again.

Rodman Reservoir Caught total of 8 largemouth bass in 4hrs. Largest was 10lbs 4oz, next largest was 10lbs 1oz, then an 8lb'er followed by 4lb'ers. Captain Ken Walker knows where they are. Will be coming back!!!

Fishing with Captain Walker I never leave reviews, but this time I had to make sure I let everyone know about my son and husband fishing trip with Captain Ken. My son loves to fish and he had the best time fishing with Captain Ken!!! He’s eleven and Captain Ken was patient and really took the time to teach him about fishing. Wonderful Fishing Trip We had a great time on our bass fishing trip to Rodman. Captain Ken Walker was fantastic. Very professional and knowledgeable about the area and best fishing spots. He took great care of us and we caught a lot of bass. An added plus was seeing alligators and family of manatees. Beautiful!

Rodman Rampage I finally had a chance to go out on Rodman reservoir after fishing in northern Florida for several years. A special thank you to Captain Ken Walker for rearranging his schedule to match up with my recent trip to the area. Several days before my trip Captain Walker contacted me to get a general feel for what my experience was and what I was looking for in this trip. I let him know that I had been coming to the area for several years to fish but had never fished on Rodman reservoir. He asked about the biggest fish I had caught while in this area. I told him that my largest fish was 7.6 pounds. I met Captain Walker on the day of the trip and he told me that he had a great spot picked out and that we would have a good day. At this point I must tell you we didn't really have a good day we actually had a GREAT day!! Within the first 20 minutes on location my personal best was in the rearview mirror and we would continue to catch fish that topped that for the remainder of the day. Not sure that I really recall the total number of fish caught during the day but I can definitely say that I will not forget the 8.2 lb, 9.3 lb, and 10.0 lb fish that I brought in while with Captain Walker. Can't say enough about Captain Walker, I am VERY happy he was able to get me in for an unforgettable trip to Rodman reservoir.

We started catching fish within the first 20 minutes of fishing. Within the first 30 minutes of fishing my son landed a huge 9 lbs. 13 oz. trophy bass! From then on we never went more than 20 minutes without catching a fish. I landed an 8 lbs. 7 oz. and then an 8 lbs. 12 oz. bass by noon! That’s 3 trophies in less than 5 hours in the boat! We caught 7 different species of fish and they were all big and fun to catch. Ken is both a great guide and a gentleman as well. He greatly exceeded my wishes and desires. He was very helpful and patient with us. I can’t wait to get back to Rodman to fish again and when I do there is only one person that I want to fish with - Captain Ken Walker!

Rodman Reservoir with Ken Walker Our guide on Rodman Reservoir was Ken Walker and the day was fantastic. My wife and I both caught Florida largemouth bass weighing more than 10 pounds. Ken is friendly, professional, and has multiple places to fish on Rodman (our two largest bass came from different locations on the lake). He is a good instructor and willingly shares his knowledge on how to fish (and most importantly catch fish) with wild shiners. Ken will be our guide of choice when we return to fish Rodman.

Fabulous Fishing with Captain Ken Walker It was an experience of a lifetime getting to fish with Captain Ken Walker Feb 22 and 24, 2017. This captain is tireless in locating fish, teaching fishing techniques and ensuring we had a great time. Bill is an experienced bass fisherman and Dee is a newbie! We fished the mouth of the St John river near Astor, FL the first day and caught a total 11 bass including two 7 pounders. The second day we fished Rodman Reservoir and caught a total of 17 bass and Dee landed her first trophy bass weighing in at 9.25 pounds!!!!!! We can't say enough positive things about Captain Walker and we are making our reservations for 2018 this week.

Capt. Ken Walker My husband booked a 2-day fishing trip with Capt Ken Walker on Rodman Reservoir Feb 16-17. Even before the trip, Ken was responsive to all of my husband's inquiries and went out of his way to make sure we were kept updated on catches from his prior trips that week due to concerns about possible weather effects on the fishing. During the trip on the first day, Ken predicted that we would catch our first fish at 9am. My husband caught our first fish at 9:01! This was the first and only fish that was caught on an artificial lure, and it was not a big one, but it was funny that it was caught at the time Ken predicted. Not long after, we started fishing with live golden shiners. After Ken gave us a thorough and detailed tutorial on the art of fishing with shiners, we headed to the first spot proven to produce the type of trophy bass that earned Rodman Reservoir the ranking of #8 in the 2016 list of top 100 Bass lakes in the US as ranked by Bassmaster Magazine! Well, after a few opportunities to practice the technique and a couple of small bass we managed to land, Ken took us to the spot where both my husband and I were able to catch our personal best LMB ever! Mine was an 8.75 lb lunker, and hubby caught an 8.68 lb bass with the very last shiner! In addition to putting us on some solid fish, and the occasional Bowfin/Mudfish that tried to get in on the shiner action, Ken was constantly sharing freely of his tips and techniques in catching bass. He also showed me how I could improve my casting distance which made a big difference! He continually handled all of the tasks of keeping us rigged up with hooks, shiners, and fluorescent corks (hot pink for me) as we got broke off when the shiners got hung up in the matted vegetation the bass hid under to ambush their prey. I went through Ken's stock of pink corks! Bottom line: Ken gave us an EPIC day of fishing, despite very cold weather conditions for most of the day. We each caught some solid fish besides our PB fish. Ken was knowledgeable, informative, and knows the fishery intimately. Book him for your next guided fishing trip - you'll be glad you did!

Christmas gift I booked a trip with Kenneth Walker for my son Briton as a Christmas gift. Briton has been fishing since he was able to hold a fishing pole. He has been trying everything to catch a big bass, and has succeeded quite a few times. I spoke with Kenneth Walker, and he spent a lot of time discussing what Briton wanted. Captain Ken provided my son and his guest (lifelong avid sportsman, my dad) with a trip they will always remember! The smiles have not left their faces since the day began.
