A Real Pro We had the pleasure of fishing with Captain Dave. He was very insightful and made the trip a blast! We caught about 40 fish. Peacock bass, large mouth bass, Oscars, and Cichlids. He took the time to help my daughter on her first fishing trip and by the end she was casting like a pro. Can’t wait to go back again and fish with him soon!

He is so much fun, down to earth and knows his stuff! This time we were Peacock Bass Fishing on Lake Osbourne. We caught over 20 fish each - along with all kinds of other exotic species. We will be back!!
Okeechobee largemouth fishing We had the coldest two days of the year and Dave Lauer was still able to put us on fish. We got 20 in the boat with a 8lb4oz for our biggest one! Okeechobee largemouth fishing We had the coldest two days of the year and Dave Lauer was still able to put us on fish. We got 20 in the boat with a 8lb4oz for our biggest one! Dave was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job! I definitely would recommend him to anyone looking for a good day of bass fishing on Lake Okeechobee.

Another solid day by Capt Dave! Another solid day by Capt Dave! This is our fourth time out with him and its always a good time.This time around it was a bit windy in the morning, we went out and slammed them. You couldn't leave your fly or lure near the water if your hands weren't on the reel, the water boiled with fish. The only thing better than the fishing was our guide Captain Dave very knowledgeable, cordial and friendly, one hell of a guide and fisherman he is the master baiter. If we weren't spin casting we were nailing them on the great selection of fly's we picked up from Out Fly Fishing Outfitters Fly Shop in Calgary, the crew there really knows their Peacocks. Bass Fishing with Dave Lauer 3 of us fished with Dave Lauer at Lake Okeechobee, met at Slimâs Marina for bait and launched at the boat ramp nearby. We were in the boat leaving the boat ramp at the crack of dawn and we fished all morning and caught a lot of fish. So many, we lost track of the count. Each of us caught at least one bass over 4 lbs, one of us caught one about 5 lbs and all of us caught at least 6-8 bass and several channel catfish. We caught fish nearly non-stop and really didnât have time to eat lunch. Fishing with Dave was like fishing with a family friend, he was comfortable to fish with, funny and he really put us on the fish. Any time Iâm bass fishing near Okeechobee Dave Lauer is the only guy Iâll go with. Heâs a confident pro and knows bass. All of us said his was our best day of fishing- ever. Walt Allison and walter Allison jr. Let me first start off by saying are guide Capt. Dave Lauer was top notch. We booked 3 trips had Dave for all 3 trips. 2 On okeechobee n 1 On lake Osborn. We learned which in hind sight I already knew I should of book the trip in Jan or Feb. but on are first day in the first hr my son caught an 8.2 pound large mouth n I caught an 8 pound even. Plus plenty of 3,4, n 5 pounders. The trip on lake Osborn was slow. Something going on in the lake. Lots of dead fish but we were still able to catch are first peacock bass n first clown knife and a needle fish. Peacock bass fight tremendously. Biggest weighing 5 or 6 pounds. What a great trip. Will definitely use this service again. I personally recommend this out fit. Top notch service. All about our fishing experience n satisfaction. Dave went way above and beyond to make are trip a success. Which I might add it was. Walt Allison and walter Allison jr. Let me first start off by saying are guide Capt. Dave Lauer was top notch. We booked 3 trips had Dave for all 3 trips. 2 On okeechobee n 1 On lake Osborn. We learned which in hind sight I already knew I should of book the trip in Jan or Feb. but on are first day in the first hr my son caught an 8.2 pound large mouth n I caught an 8 pound even. Plus plenty of 3,4, n 5 pounders. The trip on lake Osborn was slow. Something going on in the lake. Lots of dead fish but we were still able to catch are first peacock bass n first clown knife and a needle fish. Peacock bass fight tremendously. Biggest weighing 5 or 6 pounds. What a great trip. Will definitely use this service again. I personally recommend this out fit. Top notch service. All about our fishing experience n satisfaction. Dave went way above and beyond to make are trip a success. Which I might add it was. Guided Fishing trip on Lake Okeechobee Fishing in mid-January was a great experience. Guide Dave Lauer put us on fish at numerous locations. We caught and released a great many 3-4# and larger bass caught on wild shiners. Any day fishing is better than a day in the office. But beware of getting sunburned in January if you are out for a day of fishing. We left at about 8:00 from Slims Fish Camp launch area and returned at 3:00 with a number of channel catfish that will make good eating. read moreread less

I know that sounds like a fish story, but if I told you the number we think we really caught, it would not be real – the largest we caught was about a seven-pounder and we caught a lot of fish – Dave was awesome! He worked hard for us and his work more than paid off – he was also a blast to be with – he loves fishing and he loves the BIG O – I would recommend anyone to go with him. We are planning our next trip down – I have dreamed since I was a kid of going on Okeechobee and catching a bunch of fish, and finally after 40 years we did just that. This might sound corny, but we think the Good Lord gave us Dave so we could catch those fish – it was the trip of a lifetime!
