Captain Bio
Meet Captain Colton
Capt Colton Hester was born and raised in Fort Pierce, Florida, and is a proud Floridian. His love for fishing began as a kid, spending countless days on the water with my dad and childhood friends. He still remembers his dad waking up early with a simple command: “Come on, son, it’s time to go.”
Each trip was a mission. I’d load the boat with everything we needed—buckets, rods, food, drinks, and the essentials my dad made sure I didn’t forget. On the water, the lessons came naturally: how to rig bait, steer the boat, adjust speed for different fish species, and handle the water responsibly. At the end of the day, the dreaded task of cleaning the boat was a constant, but those early days laid the foundation for a lifetime of skills and a passion for the outdoors.
That foundation eventually led me to earn my United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential, also known as my Captain’s License. I’ll always be grateful for the mentors and moments that shaped me along the way.
These days, I still start my mornings much like I did back then: checking my gear, loading the boat, and preparing for another day on the water. Being a charter captain isn’t just my career—it’s my calling. I’ve been training for this my whole life, and I feel truly blessed to do what I love every single day.
Now, I’m here to share that passion with you. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or new to fishing, I’ll guide you through Florida’s diverse fisheries, including the iconic waters of Lake Okeechobee and Headwaters Lake, or dip your toes into some saltwater snapper or snook fishing. Let’s create unforgettable memories and explore everything Florida’s great outdoors has to offer.
