Today, I had the pleasure of fishing with Joe and Andrea. They were traveling from New Jersey looking to explore what South Florida had to offer. While doing so, peacock bass fishing peaked their interest. Andrea is a nurse and Joe is a wakeboard instructor, so taking a break in the outdoors was the perfect way to relax.Cooler morning airs and conditions coming toward a full moon had the fish feeding strong. I started the trip at the bridges which held some deeper water structure. As a result, they started catching some beautiful peacock bass. Andrea also hooked into a big freshwater snook that put up a great fight. After 15 minutes, the snook ran itself into one of the pilings and cut the line.
The major feed of the day was at 10:30 AM. As the time was approaching, we headed up to one of my big fish spots. It was not long until Joe and Andrea were reeling in some beautiful fish. 5 of their best peacock bass weighed in the 3-4 pound range. The biggest fish caught weighed in at 4.5 pounds out of Miami, FL.
Peacock bass fishing was a great addition to their vacation down here in South Florida. The bite has been really strong and I am looking forward to seeing them back out on the water again sometime!” – Capt Robert Miley

“It is always a true pleasure to add value and give a couple some awesome fishing experiences on their vacation. I had the pleasure of fishing with Scott and Nancy on Miami’s Airport Lakes on this fishing trip. They were traveling from Minnesota to escape the cold weather and enjoy some Florida sunshine. There is no better way to do so than on a Miami peacock bass fishing trip.
We adventured out for two straight days and the fishing was fantastic. Every now and then, the bite can have a slow start. Maintaining patience, we were able to cash in on some really nice peacock bass. Live bait was the preferred method of catching fish on this trip.
Sunny and windy conditions pushed the bass into key pockets and areas. I knew where to position and target them. Scott and Nancy caught over 20 bass on their fishing trips combined. The biggest bass weighed in at 5.23 pounds with numbers of 3 and 4-pound bass in the mix.
The action was red hot and I was super glad to be able to get back down there. Scott and Nancy had a fantastic time on the water and I am looking forward to our next adventure in Miami, Florida!” – Capt Joe Gruny
