Captain Mark Rose had the pleasure of fishing with Thomas, who was looking to knock a species off his bucket list. When he found out that you can catch peacock bass in Florida, he jumped all over it. If you don’t have to travel to Amazon for a fishing adventure, why not give it a try right here in sunny South Florida.

Thomas had a great day catching numbers of peacock bass. He also caught a several-quality largemouth bass. The most productive fishing technique was a drop shot rig with a TK 150 trokar hook. When the action is hot, you have to come to experience this different style of fishing. It is just getting started!

Thomas knocked off one of his bucket list species and could not have been more excited. He will be back for more action in the near future and Captain Mark is looking forward to getting him on even bigger and better fish!

Just shortly after this fishing trip, Captain Mark Rose was back on the water with Rich. Rich was traveling from New Jersey looking to get out of the colder weather. While doing so, he wanted to experience Florida bass fishing. Before this trip, he never caught a largemouth or peacock bass before. Luckily, Captain Mark Rose was able to get him on both!

The Golden Gate Canal System is a great fishery for peacock bass and largemouth bass. Rich caught 15 bass with 8 of them being peacock bass and 7 of them being largemouth bass. The biggest largemouth weighed in at 4.5 pounds. Water temperatures were in the range of 70 degrees which is perfect conditions for a strong bite.

Rich had a great time bass fishing near Naples, FL. He is looking forward to getting out on the water next time he is visiting. Captain Mark will work hard to get him on even bigger fish!

It was not long after this trip that another local expert explored the Golden Gate Canals. Captain Rick Mitchell had the pleasure of fishing with Ralph and his two buddies. They were local Floridians looking to get away on a bass fishing adventure. The canals showed them a lot of fun, laughs, and tight lines.

Ralph and his friends had a great day of fishing. They caught 2 peacock bass, 7 largemouth bass, and one freshwater Snook. Every trip you take is unique and can land you a species you may not have thought could be caught.

The action is starting to pick up along the Golden Gate Canals. As the weather begins to stabilize, you will have more active fishing.
